About this deal

But, the body count just keeps piling up, however, unbeknownst to Kim, someone is watching her investigation very closely and if she gets too close to the truth, she could be the next murder victim. As the reader is slowly made aware of her background, and the dire circumstances of her youth, it becomes impossible not to feel a deep empathy for her. By the time I finished the merry little dance on which the author led me I needed a cup of strong tea and a lie down in a dark room.

Every time I thought I had it all worked out another twist came along to throw me off the scent so I stopped trying to guess and simply sat back and enjoyed the ride. She is disconnected from her emotions and avoids complicated relationships or opening up to people, including her only ‘friend’ DS Bryant. When a female has been found dead in a bathtub, it’s just the beginning of baffling murders all taking place within a short period. They may also be used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. Kim Stone's genuine friendship with her sidekick DS Bryant and her encouragement towards DS Kev Dawson and DC Stace Woods adds a real warmth to Silent Scream and Marson's flair for characterisation is evident.Like the rest of her team, he is loyal and stands up for her when the higher-ups would have her removed from the case. Detective Inspector Kim Stone (I like her) is on the hunt for a ruthless killer in this multi-layered, multi-crime mystery novel, and the clues being unearthed have become personal.

When an application to dig the grounds of an long abandoned childrens home is granted, the truth is about to be revealed to the whole world. Angela Marsons shows a real knack with her humanity in touching on a very distressing subject matter. Many crime novels are a bit same-same if you know what I mean, it's kind of hard to add elements that make it stand out from the rest on the shelves. Every time I think I have one of this author's books sussed she just pulls the rug out from under my feet, again! Then human remains are discovered buried in the grounds of a former children’s home, threatening to bring to light a legacy of disturbing secrets.I've read every book by this author and I always end by saying it's my new favourite and this one is no exception. There are 3 instances in the novel (chapter 20, chapter 66 and one other section) that actually gave me chills and goosebumps, they were so terrifyingly sick. The story line was completely believable and continued to draw me in all the way to the brilliant finale.

Kim Stone fast realises she’s on the hunt for a twisted individual whose killing spree spans decades.Le “confessioni” dell’assassino sembrano buttate lì giusto per confermare che Kim ci azzecca sempre (in altre parole, l’autrice fornisce tutti i pezzi del puzzle e li mette pure insieme. Also, there is something Kim does right at the end of this book that will have even a greater impact if you read First Blood first. Il fascino di un thriller sta nell’arrivare gradualmente a una conclusione, sta nel seguire passo per passo i ragionamenti dei detective, sta nel vedere come un indizio o un’intuizione si evolvano portando a una pista. You will get a fraction of what drives her character in this book, including her traumatic past, which is given to you piecemeal throughout. In this very dark and atmospheric police procedural, the author has done a fantastic job of creating characters that are real and totally believable, with all their faults and merits.

As more and more bodies are uncovered the book just gets better and better, like a busy train intersection, all the story lines and people in the book come together neatly at the end to give you the conclusion you have been begging for as you read along. The story deals with a difficult subject and there is also graphic violence, so not for the faint hearted, but once I started I didn't want to stop listening until the end. This stunning book has given me characters that will stay with me for a very long time and I'm still thinking about the stories and journeys this morning after finishing the book last night. Kim's past also becomes the force behind her unstoppable need to figure out exactly what happened all those years ago.
