About this deal

Since her ex-husband betrayed her in the worst possible way, she has kept her distance from all men, taking refuge in her start-up coffee business.

Throw in a touch of cloak and dagger to the romance and the story kept me hooked all the way through. As always, this was well written with wonderful characters that flowed from the page but the unique setting of the lighthouse made it for me and I wish I could visit, magnificent! But as she gets to know Levan, Eden begins to wonder if he might be different - until she discovers he's not quite what he seems.I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influenced my review of the book.

Set in a beautiful location, based around a lighthouse, this book will have you dreaming of the coastline of Cornwall. To access your ebook(s) after purchasing, you can download the free Glose app or read instantly on your browser by logging into Glose. Eden lives with her mother in a cottage next to a lighthouse in Cornwall, since her ex-husband betrayed her she has struggled with making relationships with men. Took me a while to get into the story of Eden and Levan, but you ended up hoping they will stay together. I loved the romance side and the bond between grandmother, daughter and grand daughter is just lovely to read about. Most of the characters had secrets that they didn't want the others to find out, or were afraid of revealing. The descriptions of the cottages and the lighthouse are so vivid that you can really picture what Eden is seeing as she goes to work and back home to the cottages.

Leven career as an officer in the army was over as he wes 'dismissed with disgracre from the army and jailed for two years'. Having read a number of this authors other books I was delighted to receive an ARC of this novel and looked forward to reading it but I'm sad to say I was disappointed. Duped out of her money, her home, and her future, she has no desire to feel attracted to another man for a long time.I loved the setting of this book; it evokes wonderful memories of holidays in Cornwall when I was younger. I also struggled with the constant reinforcement of what characters were feeling, rather than interpreting it from their actions and words - it felt like we were being walked through emotions rather than empathising them. It was a lovely romantic plot but also without giving away any spoilers had other themes/plots to keep my interest.
