The author David Howell has described and portrayed the main characters with different personalities and struggles which is incredible, the characters were diverse and unique.

But she also gains much in her alternate life - love, friendship, and an understanding of her own emotional state. Most importantly, you also might find the courage to get out of your own abusive and toxic relationship. It gets a bit repetitive somewhere in the middle but the last few chapters are certain to give you goosebumps. I think the author captured Sarah's plight and ultimate growth in a powerful light through his writing and story-telling.

The prose is well written and Sarah is a well rounded main character who makes a few bad decisions in her life. Somehow she wakes up five years in her past, finding herself back with her first love John, and living back at home with her mum, two years before Tommy's birth. Each story is about a child hurting and seeking help from their heavenly Father and His angel's wise words of comfort.

It did give individuals hope that life could get better and to keep reaching for their own happily ever after. My only 'small' criticism is the need for more use of 'I'll, I've, You'll' etc - for example, in the characters speech. David J Howell described the mental and physical abuse in such vivid detail that it made me walk away from the story more than once.
