About this deal

Despite appearing to not feel or understand others, I, personally, can feel the ill intentions of another, usually after the fact, not in the moment. Continual statements of second-guessing, checking for understanding, clarifying self, and offering out extra information in an attempt to be understood. Until recently, boys and girls on the spectrum have been painted with the same brush both in terms of diagnosis, and more importantly in terms of treatment.

I appreciate knowing now and can use that knowledge to help myself in areas I struggle, such as sensory overload, without being consumed by it. Shes a black and white thinker, so shell think theres a right and wrong answer or way of doing something. I am neurodivergent-blend because of my autistic profile, gifted-intellect diagnosis, dyslexia, dyspraxia, OCD, etc. Melts my heart, despite being autistic myself, I do have both feelings and empathy; sometimes more than everyone else combined! comment, and it fits with my dd who will babble endlessly, totally unaware people aren't interested.Covering topics such as boyfriends, sex, pregnancy and rape, this book includes advice on building a support network, saying ‘no’, self-esteem and emotional healing and will prepare Aspie girls and women to make independent, informed and safe decisions when interacting with men. I have been reading so much on those conditions and feel I am also HFA and am so relieved to see there is a DX for these traits HFA’s possess. Although this article is loosely based on her checklist, you’re welcome to read more about it in her book Everyday Asperger’s. I love her and thank goodness I finally understand the black and white thinking and lack of empathy for humans.

They made a comment about me being stressed in a 'new situation' which makes me wonder if they suspect I'm an aspie! In the workplace, women tend to form cliques, social groups, and tribes that neurotypical women are more naturally enabled to understand and navigate.

Please understand this and help your daughter find a network where she can contribute and develop social connectivity. Instead, they tend to be withdrawn and can easily "fly under the radar" in classrooms and other social environments.

Quite often when I have a meltdown I'll find myself saying things like 'I've been queuing for an hour! What I do next I do not know, a diagnosis perhaps, but of course DSM-5 won’t let me have a diagnosis of Aspergers. It will also be a valuable source of insight and advice for parents, friends, professionals and anyone else supporting a female on the autism spectrum. Her therapist is using this book for explain the aspiegirl characters to the parents of recent diagnosed girls and teachers and peers at school. This book opened some dialogue with her and she was providing suggestions, such as earphones for the sensory difficulties.

My daughter is curious, outgoing, has strong feelings and is sociable, just like the girl in the book. For these reasons (and many more), we don’t hear much about it as a condition affecting millions of girls .

My daughter is getting along just fine in this life and I wouldn't change her for anything in this world.
