I love Nick Sharrat's art, the rhyming couplets and the setting which would be instantly recognisable to the target age group.I fell in love with the character of Goat from the moment I read Julia’s manuscript and as soon as I saw Nick’s drawings of a cheerful, cheeky little chap wearing a blue starry-patterned jumper that love was cemented.

The book appears to be non judgemental, but the choice of (silly) goat as the one who is different implies that he should conform, and I'm not sure that we shouldn't place a higher value on individuality. I’ve always admired the liveliness of Julia and Nick’s work together and Suzanne Carnell – our publishing director and Julia’s commissioning editor – was generous enough to let me look after this book.She lives in Glasgow and spends a lot of time on stage performing her brilliant sell-out singalong shows!
