About this deal

Avoid foods that contain refined sugar, refined flour and meat as well as coffee, alcohol, tobacco, or any other drugs. How this awful book got a 3rd printing and a movie deal is beyond me. The only good thing is the title, which I hope is the reason for its success. After an intensive, twenty-year spiritual quest, Dan's teaching found its form as the Peaceful Warrior's Way, expressed fully in his books and lectures. His work continues to evolve over time, to meet the needs of a changing world. Paradoxically related to the above statement is that happiness is not something you obtain or search or strive for but something that you feel in the here and now - Be happy , don`t resist life . --Even this is weak as I reread what i just wrote. I feel jipped , I had HOPE that some wisdom was going to be related and I don`t think there was enough , especially considering the story one had to suffer thru to recieve this weak wisdom.

The Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman is one of the first books that got me started on the path to self-mastery. The first time I read it, I must’ve been around 16 or 17 years old. It was an entertaining read that truly planted some beautiful seeds into my mind which would later unfold in amazing ways. Silence is the warrior’s art — and meditation is his sword. With it, you’ll cut through your illusions. But understand this: the sword’s usefulness depends upon the swordsman. If you don’t know how to use the weapon properly, it can become a dangerous, deluding, or useless tool. Meditation can initially help you to relax. You may put your ‘sword’ on display, proudly show it to friends. The gleam of this sword distracts many meditators until they abandon it to seek other esoteric techniques."You don’t need to control emotion,” he said. “Emotions are natural, like passing weather. Sometimes it’s fear, sometimes sorrow or anger. Emotions are not the problem. The key is to transform the energy of emotion into constructive action.” Way of the Peaceful Warrior began my own journey as a writer and teacher. I’ve been blessed by thousands of letters I’ve received over the years. When I wrote it, I had no idea that so many people, young and old, from different walks of life, would find my story so inspiring. Over the years I’ve asked myself why. I believe it’s because my story also touched upon universal themes-our common quest for meaning and purpose and direction. Somehow it reminds readers of what they had always known but forgotten — the bigger picture and essential perfection of our lives unfolding. I always donate my books to a library or book store so someone else can read them. This is only the second book in my life that I have consigned to the recycle bin for destruction.

I first read this after college when my father gave it to me as a graduation gift. I almost didn't read it, but was very glad I did as it was very impactful on me, and I think helped shape me into the person I am today. I recently decided to re-read it after a meditation teacher was talking about it - and was glad to discover that it's just as relevant to my life now as it was before. It's a book I can easily see myself re-reading every 5-10 years. Alles in allem habe ich das Buch eine Weile lang weitergelesen, weil hier und da ganz interessante Gedanken formuliert waren, aber generell ist mir das zu krass eingefärbt! Everyone tells you what’s good for you. They don’t want you to find your own answers. They want you to believe theirs. You can live a whole lifetime never being awake." Unleash your greatest potential! Better insights, better results! Learn proven practices for mind, body, emotions, career, finance, relationships, spirituality, and fun. Growth. Resilience. Strength.House Rules reveal that you can control your efforts, not outcomes. Do your best; let God handle the rest. This is one of the worst written books I ever read. Some basic tenets of eastern philosophy are poorly communicated through writing which is self-indulgent, overly dramatic, predictable, cliche and amateurish. Did I mention I didn't like it? Emotions are not the problem. The key is to transform the energy of emotion into constructive action. You'll need to refine every human function - moving, sleeping, breathing, thinking, feeling - and eating. Of all the human activities, eating is one of the most important to stabilize first.
