About this deal

Like the Wagner the Meterk is a HLVP. If you’re unsure what that means, it’s basically an air compressor that feeds the paint or in our case fence paint or treatment. It’s a minified version of full on spraying that you will see for cars and joinery.

In practical terms, the fact that it doesn’t really spray out in blasts the way other fence sprayers do means it’s not the very fastest fence sprayer out there, but it’s still pretty speedy compared to standard manual painting, plus it also means you get much less excess spray and hence waste less material.

Care does need to be taken to avoid going through the paint too fast – there is a bit of a learning curve required when it comes to working out how to most effectively use this sprayer. Adjusting the pressure on the trigger changes the application. with the speed of a sprayer and the control and coverage of a brush, the 2 in 1 pump sprayer will decorate a fence panel in 3 minutes, with a 5 year protection SPRAY PATTERNS: Lightweight yet powerful, this handy tool sets up in just minutes. It features a viscosity cup that lets you measure the density of the material you're using and adjust the spray pattern as needed. The spray nozzle requires only a simple turning of the ears on the air cap to allow for a round, horizontal, or vertical pattern, depending on your application.

Whilst able to be used with all the aforementioned paints, they may need to be thinned down more than they would with a more expensive model which can lead to another coat being required. Wagner does actually produce a designated fence sprayer but this is more expensive and probably more than is necessary for the average home user who just wants a convenient way to treat their fence every once in a while. The basic idea behind this fence “sprayer” is that it combines the speed of a standard fence sprayer with the ability to follow with the brush, for greater control on wood panels, such as fences and sheds. There are four nozzles included, of differing spray diameters: 1.5 mm, 1.8 mm, 2.2 mm and 2.8 mm. These are used to help spray paint of different viscosities, as well as define the spray size depending on the job. Several other adjustments can be made, including changing paint flow rate and breadth of spray, to fully customise application. If you take a look at my paint sprayers for walls/ceilings/kitchen units article, I tested other units for some of those tasks that crossed over and worked as an all rounder. The Wagner W100 would be what I chose as an all rounder if on a budget, or the Ginour that is in this review – I have to say they are not as good as the wagner fence sprayer and if you have a lot of fences, I would still lean toward the fence sprayer and see what you think on the other material, after all, the wagner fence sprayer will save you bundles of time over the Wagner W100 and the Ginour on your fences.
