About this deal

I really wasn't sure if I wanted to read this becuase the first one was so long - but then a new little romance book shop opened near my house.. I wanted to support them and buy a book, so I bought this. It ended up being MUCH better than I thought it would!! You’re gonna open your mouth for me.” “Excuse me?” I was going for haughty but it came out breathy. He dipped his head, drawing me even closer. “And I’m gonna kiss you.” “You can’t just expect—” But the man did expect. And damned if I didn’t open my mouth the second his lips hit mine.

Things We Hide From the Light by Lucy Score Book Review: Things We Hide From the Light by Lucy Score

Lina herself is tough and badass, but has a hard time letting people in. She’s very anti-relationship whereas Nash knows he wants everything with her. I loved how the small town basically welcomed Lina with open arms and adopted her as their own. We get all the good small town feels like we did in TWNGO, with the added bonus of the suspense here being better than it was in book 1 – mostly because we get the mystery and suspense throughout the whole book, rather than all at the end. the 🔥 tension 🔥! This is on the slow burn side (about 66% is when all magic begins), but… BUUUT… the anticipation had me panting for the grand finale 😅😉 and it was worth it 🥵. As soon as Nash sees Lina bent over trying to rescue Piper (the stray he ends up rescuing), it’s on 😎. Nash might be struggling with his mental health, but little Nash (ahem… or big Nash. Whatevs 🤣🫣) is working just fine 😉. All Lina has to do is breathe near Nash and little Nash is ready 💁🏻‍♀️ you run, I catch 😈. Gahhhh! I looove this in books (and movies too). Lina can try running from Nash, but he’s gonna go after her. Two of the most pivotal moments in the book had Nash chasing Lina, and she could only submit 🤷🏻‍♀️. I mean. Nash is VERY convincing 💁🏻‍♀️. He can convince me any time 😉🔥👀 That’s how uneventful their romance was. I get why the author waited too long to finally make them get together, because once they did get together it was nothing. Just bland. It wasn’t a bad book, the side plots kept the book going, but I wasn’t really feeling the romance at all. This book is a big one but I honestly never wanted it to end. It keeps you on the edge of your seat not only with the mystery behind Nash’s memory loss but with the development of Nash and Lina’s feelings toward one another.the bromance. Nash, Knox, and Lucian have already had this bromance going on for years, and now, we can add Nolan to the mix. I enjoyed the humor their interactions brought... and, well, the testosterone and fighting too 🤷🏻‍♀️ Score does such a great job of building up both Nash and Lina’s characters that I felt like I really understood them and their issues but loved how they were able to communicate and be there for one another. It’s a story about the past mixed with today and the results are one hot rich grump and just as hot Librarian and lots of laughs and snorts and antics of their friends and townsfolk’s from the previous stories. Also the continuing mystery throughout all 3 books involving our 3 Heroes comes to a conclusion, making this book one of my best reads all year Nash is, at heart, just an absolute sweetheart who's going through a tough time. I loved how he fell first and just went head over heels when it came to Lina. We do get a ton of all the side characters, which made me so happy because we get alllll setup for Lucian and Sloane's romance, which is coming next. I CANNOT WAIT! I know I'm going to be so sad when it's here and I'll have to let go of these town and characters. Nash. This MAN! This vulnerable, sweet, simping, infuriating, stubborn, pain in the ass man! I love him. He is so perfect for Lina. I loved how the story showed him dealing with PTSD and how he comes to terms with his past. And the dog!!!! The romance is so, so good. That epilogue was EVERYTHING! Yes, I totally cried!

Things We Hide from the Light - Goodreads

Fans of wounded romance heroes trust me when I say you are going to want to read Things We Hide From the Light by Lucy Score.Come può salvare qualcuno, essere il capo della polizia, se non é nemmeno riuscito a salvare se stesso? You have a date?” Naomi shouted the question loud enough that all the men turned and stared at us. Lucian looked like he was about to set the world on fire with his dark smolder. “Thanks, mega mouth,” Sloane muttered. “Yes. I have a date.” “A date or a hookup?” I asked at normal volume. Lucian’s hand closed into a fist, crushing his to-go cup and exploding coffee everywhere. Nash and Lina were so fun together. Their book was full of banter, excitement, and suspense. It also had some emotion and I loved seeing Nash open up to Lina. It took me a bit to connect to them as a couple, but once I did I was a goner for them! And that bonus epilogue was epic! So this is much better than the first one, which is surprising to me since I didn’t particularly care about Lina in book one and Nash came across as boring in that book. However, this book took both characters and spun them into deeply beautiful, complicated, scared, and passionate human beings who are just looking for that one person to bring them out of the darkness and into the light (get it?! title significance?! but its true). Lina and Nash deserve the same hype that Naomi and Knox get in this series. I love them more than Naomi and Knox. They felt more real to me, like these people could exist in real life with these exact problems.
