There are plenty of great apps for doodling and drawing, as well as a walled garden selection of other apps to keep kids quiet on a rainy day. This tablet doesn’t come with a stylus, but these are widely available, and you don’t need anything particularly fancy. At this price point, you are going to need to accept a couple of shortcomings. The included 3-in-1 cable requires you to connect the tablet to two USB-A and a HDMI port, which can be a little messy. Users with a spare USB-C port can tidy things up significantly and run the device over a single USB-C cable but this isn’t included in the box. At 10.1in the display may also be a little cramped for some. Drawing tablets are designed for artists who want to create digital art. Their most recognizable feature is the surface that doubles as the screen the artist draws on. It's handy for viewing your art while in the process of making it and denotes one crucial feature of these devices - they're usually standalone.Although this tablet has a screen, don’t forget that it’s not a standalone device. When you are done using the tablet, place the pen in the pen strap. The benchmark for most graphic drawing tablet is this, the Wacom Cintiq 22. Preferred by professionals, the Cintiq come with a big 21.5-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution. The companion Wacom Pro Pen 2 supports 8192 pressure levels with low activation force and tilt recognition. Together, they offer good precision, natural drawing experience and reduced parallax.

It's a smaller tablet, but it's definitely a bit pricier than other options on this list. It has a good screen resolution at 1200 x 2000, and features the faster USBC connection.Once you get beyond 1000 LPI, it’s difficult to see any real impact on your drawings. The same goes for pressure sensitivity when you have more than 2,000 pressure levels. Different tablets will offer different features. The more of these the better, but of course, more sophisticated tablets are more expensive, so it's a balancing game. Here are some key features you may want to look out for.
Before you buy this tablet, make sure that your computer has HDMI and USB ports. Otherwise, you’ll need to buy an extra adapter for your tablet to work. But either of these tablets makes a fantastic first drawing tablet students. You can continue to learn and grow with either model, so it’s a great investment. What’s most important when choosing a drawing tablet is considering your artistic process: how, where and when do you like to draw? The pen that comes with this tablet features 4,096 levels of pressure, which we found more than enough in our Huion Inspiroy H430P review. The pen is easy and comfortable to use and is a battery-free pen, so it's uncomplicated and approachable for young artists. It's considered a 'basic' stylus, but in our review we found this pen more than capable. When choosing between a drawing tablet that has a pen with a battery or not, keep in mind that batteries provide convenience. With some pens, a single charge can last for up to two months, but you will need to remember to charge the pen. A battery-free pen (like Wacom’s) does not require batteries or charging is extremely convenient … until it stops working. While changing the batteries solves most of the problems associated with a battery-operated pen, you may have to go through the company’s endless list of troubleshooting steps to figure out what’s wrong with a battery-free pen. ConnectivityDepending on your settings and software, the drawing tablet can also employ a certain level of smoothing to your drawings, making the lines less jagged. It can even help you finish certain geometrical shapes as if using a ruler or another specialized drawing tool. If you're aware of Wacom's reputation for expensive gear then the relatively slender price of the Intuos S may come as a pleasant surprise; the tablet is also a couple of years old, so discounts do tend to pop up not infrequently. Keep an eye out. There's no denying that this is an excellent peripheral with truly impressive pen specs.
