About this deal

My wife's Peugeot 106 secondary system pipe had 3 holes. Covered in GunGum, paste and 2 jubilee clips. Lasted for 2 years with no troubles and 2 MOTs until pipe literally fell in 2 due to rust.. The Holts Gun Gum Flexiwrap Silencer Repair is fully flexible exhaust repair solution. You can adjust it as needed for as tight a seal as possible, allowing you to repair holes and damaged areas easily. No need to dismantle your exhaust, simply fit the flexiwrap for a permanent gas tight seal in minutes. Features & Benefits: Common problems with some exhaust systems have resulted in repair sections becoming available. This often arises on an expensive component, such as a catalytic converter or DPF. If it’s common for a connecting end to corrode and break, then a repair section may be available. This will usually involve removing the component to fit the repair. Welding repairs I had a rust hole in the pipe in front of the silencer and patched it with repair tape. The repair was perfect and very long lasting, but unfortunately the pipe continued to rust underneath the bandage. The repair was gas-tight right up to the day the exhaust pipe snapped in half. Does anybody have any experience with these bandages (gum gum i think they're called) to patch up exhaust holes?

Spraying soapy liquid over a join or where the exhaust manifold mates to the cylinder head can also help. If air is blowing out of where you spray, it will be easier to spot the soapy liquid. This may turn into frothy bubbles, which are even easier to see.

The Gun Gum Bandage has been developed to repair small holes for a gas tight seal in minutes. The bandage is easy to use; simply moisten and wrap around the hole, then allow to dry and harden. Problem solved. The Easy Fit Metal Repair Bandage is an exhaust repair kit from our Gun Gum range containing an adjustable wrap which can be fitted to bends in sections of exhaust or where a silencer box meets a pipe. If your car’s exhaust sounds like a tractor, follow our guide on how to fix a blowing exhaust to find the problem and fix it.

The Holts Gun Gum Exhaust Repair Bandage is an exhaust repair products which been developed so that you can repair larger holes and splits in your exhaust system at home. The bandage is easy to use, simply wrap around and seal for a permanent gas tight seal. You can also use it with Gun Gum Paste for end plate leaks and small holes. The bandage is easy to use; simply moisten and wrap around the hole, then allow to dry and harden. Features & Benefits: OEM car speakers can be a little underwhelming, especially if you own an older car. We take a look at everything you need to know about the different types of car speakers before you upgrade. The Holts range of Gun Gum exhaust repair products makes it easy for you to fix any section of exhaust on your driveway. If an exhaust is blowing from a join, it may be possible to tighten that connection to seal it. Exhaust clamps can sometimes rattle loose. Or perhaps the wrong size of exhaust clamp is fitted, which means it won’t seal the connection.Fumes leaking out of your exhaust in the wrong place can increase your car’s emissions, and they can also damage other parts of your car. With this method, you don’t need any special tools and you don’t need to take the exhaust apart. All you need is the ultimate exhaust repair kit: the Gun Gum Exhaust System Repair Paste and the right bandage. What Gun Gum product should you use? Holes can develop on different parts of your exhaust, so the Gun Gum range contains products that can fix any area. The company has developed a variety of bandages for different parts of the exhaust system, for example ends or bends. When you use these with the Gun Gum exhaust paste it creates a permanent, gas tight seal that will fix the problems ahead of your MOT – and cost a lot less than a replacement exhaust. Step 2: Wearing protective gloves, apply a thin layer of Gun Gum Exhaust System Repair Paste to the damaged area with the included spatula.

If an exhaust system is blowing around a join, it may be possible to seal it with exhaust paste. This helps to fill any gaps where a clamp is fitted. Dismantle the join, clean it with a wire brush, then apply some exhaust paste. Reassemble the join, fitting a new clamp if necessary. In some cases, running the engine will enable the exhaust paste to dry as the exhaust warms up and thus you have a fix for your blowing exhaust. Flexi-sections When looking for the source of a blowing exhaust, remember that the fumes are dangerous and harmful. So make sure there’s plenty of ventilation. Exhaust manifold blowing

If you have heatproof gloves, it may be safe to hold the exhaust where you think it’s blowing. This will help to muffle the bit that’s blowing and find the cause. If the exhaust manifold is still blowing at the cylinder head, fitting a new gasket is our next suggestion. Loose exhaust clamps A flexible section of an exhaust helps to provide some movement in the system and reduce the risk of fractures. However, if the flexi-section leaks, it’s not so easy to fix. Replacing it is often the only answer. Large exhaust system holes A large hole in an exhaust system isn’t so easy to fix with a bandage, exhaust paste or anything else. In most cases, the only answer is to replace that section of the exhaust system. Repair exhaust sections A blowing exhaust can be a bit of an embarrassment. It may sound loud, but to most people it’s hardly the music out of the exhaust on a performance car. Plus, you could get stopped by the police, no matter where you are in the world.

yeah, itll pass. dont mention it to them though, emmisions is your only worry as exhaust is loaded with its own pressure in the test....Providing the exhaust is securely mounted, and free from leaks, it is not a failure if an exhaust bandage or sealant - such as gum gum is used to repair a leak.
