There are a few things to keep in mind while using this console. For example, plugging into the second stereo input cuts the mixer’s USB signal — so remember to avoid doing that if you want to keep your mixer connected to your DAW. Allen & Heath told us that users can also configure the DAW return to be on ST3 instead of ST2 through a firmware update.

As you can tell, I had a lot of fun playing with the ZEDi-10FX. It offers quite a bit more in hand than many other mixers with this channel count, representing exceptional value for the money. It’s on my short list of recommendations for home-studio engineers who could benefit from something just a tad out of the ordinary. For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs. There are many similarities between these mixers, so the following tables show only the main differences. In general we kind of liked how the console looks, and it definitely grew on us. Sure, like we said, it’s not a design masterpiece, but its laid out to work well, and work well it does. Apart from little things like that, however, the Allen & Heath ZEDi-10FX is a very capable and useful little mixer. TheGSPre micr pres have a ton of headroom for almost all situations, and the EQ’s, which have a smart Q that’s automatically controlled by the console, are absolutely simple.

The only remaining channel controls concern the Aux and FX channels. The aux channel, as you'd expect, has a knob to control the level, but no more than that. The FX channel includes both a level knob and, usefully, a tap‑tempo button, as well as up/down buttons used to select the required effect.
