About this deal

based on changes in suppliers or other extenuating circumstances. Please refer to the actual product in all The Bluetooth connectivity was tested in a strong interference environment. Both with LHDC on, the Enco X2's Bluetooth connection is on average three times more stable than the Enco X's. They don’t beat the Bose QC Earbuds for ANC or the Sony WF-1000XM4 for smarts and sound quality, but the Momentum True Wireless 3 are right up there with the best wireless earbuds on the market. However, that does at least mean the Oppo Enco Air don’t sound particularly weak, either. They’re solidly middle-of-the-road – your music will sound fine, just don’t expect it to stir up much in the way of emotion. The earbuds are 99.9% bacteria-free, which has been tested by professional institutions (Report No.: WJ20210206–WJ20213052).

There’s plenty of dynamism on display too, both of the glaring ‘loud/quiet/loud’ type and the more subtle harmonic dynamics – as a result, Thom Yorke sounds poised and immediate. There’s nothing in-your-face about the way the Oppo present music, but at the same time they’re no shrinking violets. Despite those minor grumbles, the QC Earbuds II are a superb pair of wireless earbuds, and class-leading when it comes to their ability to reduce the impact of external distractions. This 80ms latency refers to the latency data at the earphone side, and the overall latency experience depends on both device and earphones. This may vary between different devices. They do omit a couple of helpful features – active noise cancellation and control customisation – but access to an impactful graphic equaliser in the Sony Headphones Connect companion app allows you to tune audio to your tastes, which is very welcome. The WF-C500 will also prove a popular choice for those who aren’t fans of touch controls, as they use depressible buttons that take away any guesswork from controlling them. The Apple AirPods Pro Truly Wireless are the predecessor to the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) Truly Wireless. While both earbuds have the same premium build quality, the original model doesn't have as good an ANC performance as their successor. They don't have as long-lasting a battery as the second-generation model and can't reproduce as much low-bass. However, the first generation have a more neutral sound profile out of the box, which some users may prefer since you can't adjust the EQ settings.

The initial connection process isn’t as straightforward as some of its competitors, given that you need to hold down the tiny connection key to enter pairing mode. It wouldn't really be an issue if you plan on using them with just one phone.

Now, let's talk about, long usage, again it depends on your ears, I could never wear these more than 3 hours, initially, even when I built habit of wearing these maximum I reached was 5 hrs, please note, I'm not talking about battery-life right now, I'm noting my capacity to wear these on one go..., after such usage my ears would build wax in them, which smelled very bad, so, I had to clean these every week. when I reduced my wearing time to 3 hours again, cleaning requirement stretched to once in 2-3 weeks. Again, this depends on everyone's ears, so you can ignore this paragraph, if this point doesn't apply to you. As far as control goes, the Enco X are rather an odd proposition. For instance, there’s no voice control – which is a feature any number of rivals offer as a matter of course. There are touch controls on each earbud, and they prove receptive and responsive - but functionality is limited to ‘volume up/down’, ‘skip forwards/answer or end call’ and cycling through the available levels of active noise-cancelling (‘off/on/maximum/transparency’). It’s also important to test how well a pair of buds perform for non-music content. The Oppo Enco Free aces vocal output for content that is more speech-oriented. TV shows, movies and videos all benefit from this tuning. We were also delighted by the call quality on these. Parties on both ends had no complaints with the voice quality. There was some level of noise cancellation and vocal boosting going on, which made voices sound much clearer. It can get a little flat at the higher output levels, but that is a reasonable trade-off for better calls. In almost every respect, the Oppo Enco X sound like the money’s-worth. Given the right stuff to deal with – by which, inevitably, we mean a nice big high-resolution audio file - the results are seldom less than impressive.

As far as battery life goes, the Enco X fall quite heavily into the ‘good’ rather than ‘great’ category. With noise-cancelling set to maximum, the earbuds themselves should see you right for four hours or so – that increases to more like five and a half with noise-cancelling switched off. To facilitate noise-cancelling and calls, each earbud has three integrated mics plus wind-detection technology on board. And in practice, call quality at either end of the conversation proves perfectly adequate.

The 94 ms low latency was tested in OPPO Laboratory with the Enco X2 and OPPO Find X3 Pro, where "94 ms" is the time from when an on-screen button is tapped until the earbuds receive the sound. Battery life: Earbuds will always have a stated battery life, as will the case used to charge them. Between 15 and 20 hours of total listening time is around average, though your mileage will vary depending on the volume at which you play your audio. Having advanced features such as ANC active will also drain your battery faster. The six patented technologies are as follows: CN209390359U, CN209390360U, CN209526840U, CN209526870U, CN209526841U, CN209526873U. The Bluetooth® connectivity was tested in a strong interference environment. Both with LHDC on, the Enco X2's Bluetooth® connection is on average three times more stable than the Enco X's.

Oppo teams with Dynaudio for its latest wireless earbuds

There are no spare silicone tips in the box, since the Enco Air sport a more solid design. Nevertheless, these buds are lightweight and smooth; they fit our ears well, without ever feeling like they were going to fall out. Better noise cancellation can be found elsewhere, and some may find the fit a bit fiddly, but neither issue prevents the EAH-AZ80 getting a big thumbs up from us.

Switch down in file size to a 320kbps Spotify stream of Grouper’s Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill and there are the inevitable reductions in detail levels, while the soundstage loses a little of its unshakeable positivity too. But the Enco X remain eminently listenable, with plenty of observations to pass on about tone and timbre.Such features make the Buds2 Pro our number-one choice if you’re already invested in the Galaxy ecosystem but if you don’t fall into that category, you’ll find better value elsewhere on this list. In terms of getting audio information on board in the first place, the Enco X use the newfangled Bluetooth 5.2 standard. Codec support runs to SBC, AAC and the extremely niche LHDC. LHDC is good news for owners of some Oppo smartphones, though, while the rest of us can relax in the knowledge that Bluetooth 5.2 is more than capable of dealing with our Hi-Res Audio files from the likes of Tidal Masters. Support for Bluetooth Low Latency is also included, so synchronicity between audio and video should be guaranteed. In the mobile era, there’s no time for worrying when or where you ’ll be able to take a call. OPPO’s advanced dual microphone beam-forming technology and AI uplink noise cancellation work together to shield your calls from outside noise, so your voice can be heard clearly in any environment. Intuitive controls, right at your fingertips. Ultra-dynamic speakers installed in OPPO Enco Free true wireless headphones are supplied by two suppliers. OPPO Enco Buds are compatible with Bluetooth® 5.2 or lower enabled devices running both iOS and Android.
