About this deal

The original Henry hoover is the most popular of the range and compares relatively well in terms of weight at 7.5kg. This is a fairly typical weight level for cylinder vacuum cleaners with several Miele models for example weighing in at around 7.4 – 8.4kg. The good news is that the lower suction is partly counteracted by the EcoBrush tool – at least for smaller cleaning jobs. This is a small tool with a brush for agitating hairs and dirt from carpets, which improves cleaning performance. It’s not suitable for cleaning large areas though. We have a James hoover at home and a classic Henry which we use for our cleaning business; you do certainly notice the difference in weight between the two. The James vacuum cleaner is far easier to move around with especially on the stairs.

The Hetty vacuum cleaner is identical to Henry in every way... but she is Pink and has very pretty eyelashes. In 2020 Numatic released Hetty in yellow too. The difference between Henry and Hetty Vacuum cleaners ends there. They are made with the same motors and tools and are designed for everyday dry use around the house or as a key member of many businesses. David DVR200 - Green, introduced alongside George and another green vacuum with a 15-litre capacity called "William" on 5 February 1990 as model DVR200, now discontinued. William was a lower-cost version of Charles, discontinued after a short time. [21] An additional versatility with the Henry range are the bags. You can use the same set of bags throughout the majority of their machines. The wet and dry, the pet hair, and the larger models all use a one-size-fits-all-capacities bag. It makes it easier to shop. Durability & Reliability First introduced more than four decades ago, the range has evolved considerably, and although the distinctive red Henry is perhaps the most recognisable member of the expanding family, he’s far from the only option. With varying collection chamber sizes, attachments, motors and tool sets, it’s not always obvious which is the best for your needs. In addition, the Henry XL Plus also has a noticeably longer cable than the original Henry at most others at 12.5m (compared to 10m) meaning you can cleaner in a much bigger range without having to switch plugs, saving you time.

It’s also worth considering the compact versions of Henry vacuums. Many people don’t need the extra capacity provided by full-sized models. Summary Charles is designed to shine in the wet – and this is indeed where it has the edge over the competition. Having a vacuum which can clean up spillages is a major bonus. If you’ve ever had a big spill in your home or even had a problem with the plumbing you know exactly how difficult it can be to clean it up. Not with a Charles in the house. Though slightly heavier than the original Henry, the Eco still provides 6 litres of dust bin capacity and a 10 metre cable for good reach around your cleaning area.

Henry Professional (HVR240) - A slightly larger version of the standard (9-litre) model for professional and retail applications. [10]

There are different aspects of Henry vacuums that come with a class rating. Energy Efficiency is one, suction another. There may be more. As a general rule, Class A is the best you can buy. A Traditional Henry has an Energy Class A rating, for example. Other Considerations to Make Before Buying a Henry Vacuum Cleaner

Other Machines from Numatic

Henry Allergy' comes with a much more advanced filter stop airborne dust particles. Great of you suffer with dust allergies. Although Charles was intended to act as a vacuum cleaner in wet conditions, you can also use it just as you would a regular vacuum cleaner, in dry conditions. Built with two powerful 1200W TwinFlo motors, this machine is capable of lifting the most stubborn dust and dirt that accumulates in our homes. It has a dry capacity of 15 litres, which is ideal for professional cleaners who want a machine that will vacuum an entire floor of an office without having to empty the bag half way through. The Charles is also extremely lightweight, weighing only 7.1 kilograms, so you’ll have no problem pulling it around your home or carrying it up a flight of stairs. When I first switched this machine on I was surprised by just how quiet the motor was. It is common for the average vacuum cleaner to produce a lot of noise when it is running but I was actually able to listen to the radio while I tested the Charles out in my home. Charles in the wet If you decide Charles is the wet and dry vacuum for you, you’ll be getting a great all-in-one vacuum cleaner with plenty of bag capacity. The fact he’s also lighter than George means he’s easier to manoeuvre and carry around. Edward EVR370 - Larger red vacuum with a 15-litre capacity that was also available in blue, green and yellow, now discontinued. John and Lewis (JL150) - Green and Purple, introduced on 7 July 2014 as a John Lewis & Partners limited edition, now discontinued on 10 February 2022.

Henry is a fixture of homes and offices nationwide. Designed and built in Britain, the quirky vacuums have a reputation for ease of use, effectiveness and durability, with many still going strong after decades of faithful sweeping. That’s no surprise: according to manufacturer Numatic, every Henry is “designed, tested and engineered to last a whopping 25 years”.An all-in-one vacuum cleaner, Charles wet and dry is one of only two vacuums from the Henry Hoover range that has been built to clean on both dry and wet surfaces. George Hoover is the other all-in-one vacuum from Numatic, and the two vacuums share a number of similarities. With a six Litre capacity, Hetty is the same size as the Henry 160-11, but is smaller than the Henry 200-11 which comes in at 9 litres. So is Hetty smaller than Henry? It all depends on which model you’re comparing against. The hoses only give an extra metre or two in terms of extra reach. However, the cord winds out for up to 26 metres, which is the average length a Henry vacuum cleaner can stretch to. If you own a flat, the Henry will be able to clean the whole place without you having to unplug and move. Energy Efficiency
