Roger Deakins shot SKYFALL on Alexa even though he knew there’d be a 4K finish. But that’s Deakins. Bonus: TOS “Balance of Terror”– In a surprise bonus (as it wasn’t listed on any press release), CBS has included the 2006 remastered version of the classic Star Trek episode “Balance of Terror.” This is a fitting extra, of course, as episode 110 (“A Quality of Mercy”) relies heavily on the events and even dialogue from the original episode. WORLD BUILDING — Led by Production Designer Jonathan Lee and his team, the season’s production design utilized cutting-edge technology to create worlds prior to shoots, allowing the actors to fully immerse themselves into scenes rather than imagine the worlds around them in a green room. Through interviews with producers, cast and crew, fans will learn about the expertise involved in the development process and how the powerful technology was seamlessly integrated into the show. By comparison, I only own maybe a dozen films and series on digital, mainly because I was having trouble finding them cheap and used on disk or they just plain weren’t available on disk, but I hate having to rely on that virtual streaming approach, given that somebody could just decide to alter the content at some point. The inner print is a two-panel spread that features another alien landscape with the same color We’re getting closer to the return of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and as these things traditionally go, Season 1 of the Captain Pike-centric series has just beamed down on Blu-ray and on DVD for fans to add to their home collections. So that’s the problem for many and why DVDs/Blu rays are dying out. It’s no different to why you hardly see anyone playing music on CDs today. The reality is unless you’re a ‘collector’ or you are really really a big fan of certain shows and movies, most people probably watch something once or twice and that’s it. With streaming, most people will watch it and move on to the next thing.I and some friends organized an entire group to go. We intentionally went to the theatre in our major city that was reputed to have the best production and sound. Overall, "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" is an excellent addition to the Star Trek franchise, delivering exciting action, thought-provoking ideas, and emotionally charged character development. It's a must-watch for any Star Trek fan and a great starting point for those new to the franchise. Listen don’t get me wrong. I 100% agree it’s always better to have physical media, but man I’m too lazy and cheap lol. Streaming is just ‘easy’ and in reality is more accessible. The Gag Reel (2:47) is pretty fun! Gag reels are certainly hit-and-miss, but honestly, this one was a bit of a hit. It certainly solidifies the well-known fact that this is a very fun cast; they are absolutely enjoying every part of this. Even Mount seems a little pleased with himself for continuing the Trek tradition of walking right into a sliding door. Celia Rose Gooding’s gaffes are a complete delight as well, as are a few moments of full cast silliness and pranks. As usual Denny C, I agree with you. Again, I think Star Trek is doing well on P+, but I don’t think any of the shows are doing massive business either. Enough to keep making more but sadly I don’t think any of them would survive on a network more than a season or two, not for what they cost anyway.If Discovery wasn’t a massive hit that it was for Paramount we wouldn’t have all this new shows(and more coming) including SNW which is also a massive hit for Paramount. Yes Discovery has it’s haters and sections of the fandom who just don’t like the style of the show but there are fans who do that for all Trek shows that is nothing new. I hope I didn’t sound unkind or unsympathetic speaking about my parent’s experience. I’ve been going through a period of reflection on their career as I move on in my own. Coming May 16, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 1 will be arriving in a special 4K Blu-ray Steelbook edition, which will contain all 10 episodes of 2022’s adventures in the Ultra HD format. The 4K Steelbook will not contain standard Blu-ray discs, so if you’re looking to acquire both formats, you’ll need to shop twice.
