About this deal

Rear fog lights can be always used, though, as they are designed to alert the drivers behind you of your presence. after this u get two lines old odometr and new.. in the new write YOUR car miles or kilometer…do nothing to the old leave it as it is… New 21w bulbs fitted to the rear bulb holders and all made clean and bright (they weren't bad to start with).

The fuse box under the bonnet seems to be different to how you describe...wish I could share a photo.

Rear fog lights should always be switched on whenever visibility is poor, as they are there to alert other road users of your presence, not just to give you a clearer view of what’s behind you. When Should You Not Use Fog Lights? Will You Be Fined For That?

Since rear fog lights are compulsory, every car will have at least one rear fog light. Front fog lights are not compulsory, so only few cars come with them. 4. What is the purpose of fog lights in a car? I’ve read a few posts recently, in which people are asking “where is the rear fog light?” or alternatively “where is the rear fog light switch?” This is my response to reading those posts, and it may turn into a small rant but I hope it is useful all the same. It may also help answer the question I see being asked many times: “what is this extra switch for on my dashboard?”stop in the correct position at a junction with limited visibility and listen for traffic. When you are sure it is safe to emerge, do so positively and do not hesitate in a position that puts you directly in the path of approaching vehicles. Obviously fog lights aren't needed when it's dry, and there's not much point in turning them on when it's dark, either. The lamp housings don’t have the same kind of reflectors as main beam headlights, so they are unlikely to give you any extra light to help you see where you are going.

If the test is unsuccessful, what else could it be other than a break in the wire somewhere? A dodgy earth? If so where would I look for that? It has a blue relay but only 2 small fuses - a 20A and a 30A - and what look to be further relays or large fuses?! Numbered 09 (blue), 70 (pink) and what appear to be numbers 80 (white) and 08 (white), though the '8' doesn't look like a normal 8. It looks like the white fuse / relay numbered 08 is the same as the one numbered 80 but put in upside down. Hope this makes sense!!

When to use your fog lights

i respect what you have advised, but, according to my reading of the instructions to MOT inspectors, those regulations are not part of the MOT inspection !

Relays do fail so might be that, but unless you are electrically minded and fancy getting dirty under the bumper to change a bulb, an auto electrician might be the best bet. It seems like the water ingress in the Alarm SCU suffered earlier in the year did more damage that was first thought. With this in mind I decided the best cause of action was to bite the bullet and get the Alarm SCU replaced. I think any other cause of action would only be delaying the inevitable.Appreciate your intelligent comment as usual mate but the only way I can see this independent switch working as it should is with dash wiring that has the tell tale light anyway. The pins are all independent on this one.
