Even though advertised as including haircare I wasn't expecting quite so many products to be included, and as far as beauty advent calendars go there's a lot to leave your hair feeling like you've just stepped out of the salon. But the OTHER thing you can do is celebrate the 12 days of Christmas with yet another advent calendar! That’s right, as if Christmas wasn’t exciting enough.
Our 60 second review: "Out of the 12 products in the calendar, there is a mix of mini and full-sized, with some of their most-loved formulas included, as well as skincare bits you might not have tried before. "By the end of the 12 days you will have a whole new skincare set, with a cleanser, toner, day and night moisturiser, and eye lotion, making it a brilliant option if you want to switch your usual routine up or you're not sure where to start with introducing one. I loved the scent of all the products included, as they smell really luxurious and give you a taste of spa-life from home." Whilst unboxing it's easy to see how this calendar has something for everyone, the products itself are staples and what everyone could need in their beauty routine - from shampoo and conditioner, facewash, body wash, moisturiser, make-up, nail polish, perfume and hand cream. Some people were, however, thrilled with what they managed to bag through the advent calendar. @Weggster tweeted: "I’ve won on the M&S 12 Days of Christmas advent calendar. I need to share my hate for tea wider I think. Grateful though so thank you." @MrsMummypennyUK said: "Share your M&S sparks card 12 days of Christmas freebies. I got mince pies. But @EveK1979 got a bottle of gin!!! Who can beat gin?"

Our verdict: “Although it’s one of the more expensive beauty advent calendars I’ve been able to analyse this year, it’s one of the best too, featuring`brands and products I’ll genuinely use. There’s a really great variety included from makeup must-haves to TikTok sensations, each door truly holds a moment of beauty joy.” The 12 days of Christmas traditionally represent the birth of Christ followed by the arrival of the Three Wise Men, 12 days later. This is typically the date when people take down their trees and the festive period is officially over - so why not mark that countdown with a little treat each day, too?Some shoppers have slammed M&S for what they've found inside. Katrine Cassidy said: "I got satsumas so think I’ll find mine no prob." Emily Harris complained: "Mine's just a handcream for the first day." Nikki Wadsworth said: "I got a Robin xmas Dec would of liked the gin lol." Clinique, REN, Nuxe, This Works and Lumene are some of the skincare brands included, each fitting a different purpose from overnight cream, revitalising cream, uplift serum and under eye brightening cream. One of my favourites so far, and not a brand I've tried before, is the This Works 'In Transit Camera Close-up' primer, it's light on the skin and gives enough blurring to prep before a full-face. Ted Baker's Advent Calendar is filled to the brim with indulgent bathing and beauty treats, as well as some limited edition festive surprises. Last year there were 24 products inside the advent calendar, while this year there are 27. However, comparing this year’s contents to last year, 18 products included are exactly the same, which could be good or bad depending on which way you look at it. Many brands launch themed calendars to open from December 1 - you can find some of our favourites here - but did you know that there are also a number of 12 day advent calendars out there, too?
