The choice for weights is quite varied; players can choose lighter or mid-weight bats at 2lb 8 oz or opt for heavier ones which come to about 2lb 12 oz. Gunn & Moore uses unbleached English willow for the construction of these superlative blades with a tinge of redwood coloring and minor cosmetic blemishes. The larger, flat edges provide a larger sweet spot enabling big hits up into the air or drives down the ground and minimizing edged shots. The enhanced bow design allows the batsman to play belligerent shots and the extra weight on the lower end can be an excellent resource on pitches with lower bounce. Player Edition bats are made from very select LE timber and are finished with prestige Player Edition identification in addition to the superb laser engraved player autographs. GM NOW! and ToeTek™ finish are fitted as standard for almost every bat in the range and it’s the same for the Player Editions. Bat weights cannot be specified and will be “as finished”, meaning they will be exactly the same as the player you have selected, the dimensions of which you can see when looking at a specific Player Edition bat.The Diamond now features the Hex grip, specifically engineered to offer the most grip available on the market, ensuring perfect grip at all times. The handle comes with a treble spring fitted and is ovalled at the base for maximum control and comfortable placement of hands. Mullaney’s signing is just another indication of the strong relationship between GM and Nottinghamshire CCC, as both parties have agreed to extend the existing partnership agreement. The Player edition bats are made from Grade 1+ English Willow– the best one available – and contain no less than six lines of grain (usually more). Like other bats in the Gunn & Moore repository, the Icons are made from Prime English Willow. The grade of the wood varies according to the price point. Compared to the Diamond, the Icons are slightly lighter coming in sizes ranging from 2lb 6oz to 2lb 10 oz.
