It is also recommended that you make a note of the distance from the top of the nut to the top of the stud being adjusted (usually measured in millimetres) before making any changes. This will allow you to easily reverse any adjustments made if required If the VSV malfunctions entirely, no coolant will be able to enter the heater core and create warm air. To this end, the only option to get the heater working again is to change the valve. Coolant/ Antifreeze Leak If you need to generate vacuum, why not do it while consuming significantly less air at the same time?

A coolant/antifreeze leak can occur due to a number of factors, including a blown radiator hose, a faulty hose on the intake, a warped head gasket, or, most commonly, EGR valve failure. The vacuum switching valve (VSV) regulates the vacuum supply to the actuator. It is usually closed and only opens when the electronic control unit energizes it. Pressure switches can be used across a wide range of environments and industries. As a result, various types of pressure switch are available to ensure each device is best suited to its particular applications. The very first sign of a failing VSV is a heater that only blasts tepid air as the valve only opens halfway. The flow of hot antifreeze to the heater core will be restricted, reducing the heater’s efficacy. T he Heater Not Blowing Warm Air

You can disconnect the electrical connector and use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance between the terminals.
