About this deal

Sold only at discount chains like Family Dollar, this version of Megatron uses the new 2015 style of Kreon hips and torso, with a hollow hip-peg and a central post inside the torso for increased grip... which also makes them incompatible with about four years' worth of Kreons. He also features entirely new face and chest tampographs. So version number four of the same base design. This toy was used as " Gold Megatron," Megatron's super-iest duper-iest super mode in the Generations Selects Special Comic. Released in conjunction with Japanese cellphone maker au, [5] au x Transformers INFOBAR Megatron is a retool of the same line's INFOBAR Optimus Prime, with a new head and decoed in traditional Megatron colors. Optimus prime doesn't come with a gun. Again, why? They did this with the Bumblebeeas well and it makes no sense. In a slightly more sane attempt, another triple changer was proposed which would switch between Megatron, a very awkward Galvatron, and a Walther P-38 handgun with a futuristic silencer and laser sight.

This mold was redecoed into the purple Megalligator ( see below), released individually to be his own character Megalligator and a different redeco was proposed for the unproduced Albitron. The Iguanus version of the mold was redecoed into Crazybolt. At BotCon 1996, a donated Hero Megatron redeco was one of the items in the charity auction, along with several other canceled Generation 2 toys. Hero Megatron was designed with articulation in mind, so he is loaded with multiple swivel and universal joints, giving him far greater movement compared to his original Generation 2 toy. However, it's really just friction that keeps his joints tight and his parts together in vehicle mode (no pegs or clips) so after a bit of time and play, he turns pretty floppy. The joints connecting his biceps to his shoulders are also reportedly easy to break due to overly-tight tolerances, so caution is advised.Needless to say, the later-released Masterpiece Starscream (and his redecoes) can also hold this version of Megatron, and each include a small round clip that plugs in under their nosecones, allowing them to wield Megatron while in jet mode, as Starscream did in " S.O.S. Dinobots". Part of the second assortment of Go-Bots, this version of Megatron is a mild redeco of the Autobot Blowout, transforming into a 1:64-scale Porsche 959 sports car with through-axle construction. This not only makes him roll exceptionally fast in car mode, but also makes him largely compatible with playsets from the "Hot Wheels" and "Matchbox" toy-car lines.

As the Masterpiece Optimus Prime mold has been has re-released multiple times, so too has Megatron. He was made available again without changes as an accessory for Takara's MP-4, " Convoy Perfect Edition" and MP-1L, " Convoy Last Production", and Hasbro's " DVD Edition", but has also been redecoed several times: these distinct new versions of Megatron are listed below.

Accessories: Fusion cannon, energon mace, energy dagger, laser pistol, Kremzeek figure, Reflector figure The tank's turret can detach and become a "jet throne," which features flip-out wings, and the body of the tank transforms into a missile-launcher battle station. The battle station has two seats on either side behind the missile launchers (non-firing) and a stowing bay in the center for an additional figure.

Smallest Transforming Transformers Megatron was released in the second wave of the diminutive Takara toyline, including only his fusion cannon. Easily the most complex of the Smallest Transforming figures, Megatron is a just-barely-simplified version of his original Generation 1 toy, possessing the same transformation scheme and retaining most of his articulation. The transformation step involving sliding his chest upwards away from his hips is extremely difficult and will usually result in the chest popping off; this is fixable. Megatron returned as an Action Master in 1990, and as with most Action Master figures, he could not transform. His sculpt was based heavily upon the character's animation model design. Megatron is compatible with all other Action Master accessories and vehicles. Once again thanks to Nimama’s Transformers Facebook we have our first in-hand images of the recently revealed Transformers R.E.D. Transformers Prime Optimus Prime & Megatron. Accessories: Left and right fists, translucent right fist, gun barrel (opaque and translucent), saluting right hand (opaque and translucent), "Laser Vulcan", stand, die-cast Megatron Gun accessory (Asia reissue)I wrote another review for the Starscream and Bumblebee that match up with these so here's the good for these two. The toy still retains the opening panels on its forearms, despite no longer featuring the large missiles they are designed to store. The same images were later shown at BotCon 2005. Sadly, photography was not allowed at either panel the toy was shown at. A diminutive version of Megatron in his Walther P-38 mode was included as a new accessory with the Transformers Collection release of Starscream. Needless to say, he doesn't transform, but can be held by Starscream in both modes. Megatron's handle disconnects to reveal a peg, which can then be inserted into either of Starscream's fists, which were specifically resculpted for this purpose. Each fist also features a tab on its underside, into which Megatron's handle can be inserted, completing the effect. Megatron can also attach to Starscream's jet mode; the right-hand side of Megatron's handle features a square peg which is designed to fit snugly in gaps in Starscream's pectorals, as in the Generation 1 episode, " S.O.S. Dinobots". Unfortunately, this peg has, for no fathomable reason, been cast in the same sky blue color as Starscream's hands, unnecessarily making it as obtrusive as humanly possible. An additional tabbed right fist for Optimus Prime (complementing his then-upcoming Transformers Collection Convoy release) was included as well. This mold might have been planned for a redeco into Sports Label Starscream, but that's a bit vague.

Part of the Japan-exclusive Street Fighter II × Transformers toyline, Megatron is a redeco of Titans Return Voyager Class Megatron in M. Bison's traditional colors, fleshy bits and all. He transforms from robot to tank to fighter jet (both of made-up model), complete with Shadaloo insignia. The smaller Headmaster unit's robot mode is also painted to resemble Bison. I have fewer accessories than the other one while being more nostalgic, I'm just as difficult to transform, but your money is in your hands right now, oh whatever shall you do? Scaled to the same height as 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime and designed in only twelve days by Hisashi Yuki, [2] Masterpiece Megatron is an incredibly complex figure—potentially one of, if not the, most complicated Transformers toys to date—designed to depict a fairly show-accurate Megatron capable of transforming into a realistic (if oversized) Walther P-38. In achieving this seemingly impossible goal, Megatron winds up with the least articulation of the Masterpiece line, as well as a notably low percentage of die-cast metal.

Not initially released in Japan, this sculpt only got a TakaraTomy release six years later when it was redecoed into " Tank Megatron" for TakaraTomy's United toyline. Megatron's transformation, while easy to figure out, is hard to actually complete. It's hard to describe in writing, but the final steps involve folding two parts at the same time and they don't really line up the way they are supposed to. My son gets it close enough that he can still play with it, so it's fine. Yuki]: That is right. (*laughs) I was not assigned to be in charge of it initially, but due to the circumstance within the company I was unexpectedly handed down the project. The schedule came with it and I was stunned when I realised that I was only given 12 days, about 2 weeks...To make it worse, at the time of my receiving the task, even the product size wasn't decided. (*tears)
