About this deal

I love Little House books and also devoured Hilarie Burtons book. I read this book consecutively with Laura Ingall Wilders Little House in the Ozarks. That book is a compilation of Laura's newspaper writings while living in Missouri. It is humble, moral, inspiriting and relevant even today. Brodesser, Claude (July 21, 2005). "Hollywood comes to Howell: Gilbert and Busfield are the biggest stars we've had, but not the first". thelivingstonpost.com . Retrieved April 9, 2019. First of all, this book isn't politically motivated. Trump is mentioned a few times, but there are no long-winded political hate speeches in this book. Clearly Gilbert is disappointed with the last administration, and who can blame her? She was president of SAG, and ran for Congress. She is an intelligent human being who knows her way around politics, which certainly cannot be said for "the orange turd." In any case, the vast majority of the book revolves around Melissa's bond with her husband and children, and how they were able to create a comfortable life for themselves during the pandemic. For a person formerly known as "Spenderella," Gilbert has adapted well to a quieter life of gardening, knitting, and befriending wildlife. The woman is also not afraid to toot her own horn, and that's something other women should applaud. On April 24, 2013, Gilbert married 55-year-old actor Timothy Busfield, known for his role as Eliot Weston on TV's Thirtysomething. The couple reportedly wed in a private ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California. Busfield, who was married twice previously, has three children from past relationships. Politics

For her contribution to the television industry, Gilbert received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6429 Hollywood Blvd in 1985. [9] Her then-fiancé, Rob Lowe, was present with her when her star was unveiled during the ceremony. [10] In 2008 and through 2009, Gilbert played Caroline "Ma" Ingalls in the musical adaptation of Little House on the Prairie. This world premiere production at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis was directed by Francesca Zambello and also starred Kara Lindsay as Laura. The show ran through October 19 and was on a US National tour for 2009–10. [11] [12] The tour ended in June 2010 at Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. Calling this authoress promiscuous was bullshit. At 16, she was appalled that an adult was cast as her TV husband. The first person she kissed was in front of us. She shared highlights of her journey with Rob from ages 17 to 22. No stone was thrown. He attended her wedding reception. Naturally, they grew-up in a group of friends. That these folks are familiar to us does not justify the annoyingly misunderstood expression, “name-dropper”. It defines someone without a story to tell, utilizing people unconnected to them. Her Sister’s stardom was unmentioned! “Roseanne” débuted 5 years after “Little House” closed.Having read her prior memoir a short several years ago, I knew I would like her writing style and looked forward to experiencing this book. However, my pleasure in reading it was punctuated intermittently with her personal politics. I tried to look past it time and time again until she truly got vile and ignorant at around the 40% mark, where I slammed the book closed forever. It sounds like she and her husband aren't that financially solvent and they could really benefit from the proceeds of this book. Therefore, I really don't think it's a good idea turning off half of this politically divided country. I don't have to watch the Oscars or the Grammys anymore, and I don't have to read your books either. I have to admit that I was a little disappointed that Melissa Gilbert felt a need to use so much profanity throughout the book. It was really hard for me to read through most of the chapters because of the profanity. I enjoyed the last few chapters because they were profanity free. Spangler, Todd (August 10, 2015).
