About this deal

Raymond de Guise is still at home recovering from his injuries at Dunkirk, but he's restless & joins the ARP, although he's not really healed enough to do anything, but he feels useless doing something to help the war effort.

Mrs Moffat, head of housekeeping, is still pursuing her friendship with Archie Adams, the pianist & band leader at the hotel They are getting on really well & enjoy afternoon teas together. The hotel receives a new manager who is of ‘advancing years’, and the staff as a result have no confidence in his ability to steer them through these difficult times – particularly as families start evacuating and high society start fleeing the city. Du Beke has also appeared in a number of Children in Need and Christmas Specials of Strictly Come Dancing. In 2008 he won the Children in Need 2008 special, dancing an American Smooth with Tess Daly. He danced once again with Anne Widdecombe in the 2012 Children in Need special but lost out to Russell Grant and Flavia Cacace. He did however go on to win the Children in Need 2014 special where he and fellow dancer Natalie Lowe taught a group of children how to dance. Du Beke has also reprised his partnerships with Lesley Garret and Ann Widdecombe for the 2004 and 2018 Christmas specials, respectively. He has also danced with Ronni Ancona, Su Pollard, Katy Brand and Denise Lewis in the respective 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2016 Christmas specials. In 2015 Du Beke served as a judge on The People's Strictly, a one off version of the show where non-celebrities compete for the charity Comic Relief. In 2020, he reprised his role as a judge for weeks four and five to fill in for Motsi Mabuse who needed to quarantine after travelling to Germany. On 24 June 2021, it was announced that Du Beke would become a permanent judge on Strictly Come Dancing from series nineteen, starting in September 2021, replacing Bruno Tonioli. [9] Laila Rouass comment [ edit ] Huge apologies – I’m so sorry to be the bearer of such news, I know we’ve all been looking forward to the tour so much! ‘A Christmas to Remember’

Norfolk, Pam (23 August 2022). "We'll Meet Again by Anton Du Beke: Nostalgia, suspense, romance and intrigue – book review –". www.lep.co.uk . Retrieved 5 October 2022. It gives me very great pleasure to announce that my brand new book will be coming out on the 11th November this year – and I can today reveal that the title is…‘ We’ll Meet Again‘! It’s September 1940 and with bombs raining down every night, the staff do a magnificent job of keeping the guests happy, even if it’s down in the bunkers.

In September 2020, Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice announced a 2021 UK Tour "HIM & ME". [23] Philanthropy [ edit ] In 2009, Du Beke said that his dance partner Laila Rouass "looked like a paki" after she had arrived at rehearsal with a spray tan. Du Beke denied being racist and said that the comment was made "in jest". [10] [11] Other television appearances [ edit ] Jones, Catherine (8 August 2014). "Strictly star Anton Du Beke ready and waiting for Southport Flower Show – win a champagne tea with him!". Liverpool Echo. In March 2007 Du Beke was a contestant on the BBC Two series The Underdog Show and was paired with homeless dog Ginger. They were eliminated in week three of the competition. Keep up!

Secrets, announcements, revelations and celebrations come to the fore in these next chapters of their lives – with the spectre of war growing ever closer.

Behind the scenes, the staff work tirelessly, ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel, guarding the secrets of their guests – but they have many of their own that they fear will be revealed. As the band strikes up in the Grand Ballroom to celebrate the nuptials of Raymond and Nancy, one thing is certain – this will be a Christmas to remember. Du Beke was born in Sevenoaks, Kent, to a Hungarian father, Antal Xavier Beke [1](1939–2001), and a Spanish mother, Ascensión "Conchita" Lema.
