About this deal

Their support is a call center oversees that simply knows a set number of SIMPLE troubleshooting and that is it.

I work in IT so this was not difficult to set up, however, if I did not work in IT this would be a challenge to set up.I don't know if this is already somewhere. I'm adding here the output of dmesg after login in the router. if that is useful for anything. Note, the length is larger than maximum message so I've to split it in 3 parts [ 0.000000] Booting Linux on physical CPU 0x0 For a typical ten-person or less office, the SXK30 has enough bandwidth to easily handle most needs, especially if you tie the satellites using wired networking and the building infrastructure isn’t especially challenging for WiFi signals. Slightly offsetting the pedantic nature of these mechanisms, adding satellites to a router is merely a matter of connecting them within wireless connection range or on the same wired network, and they’ll automatically be found and added. Insight sees the Orbi Pro router and its satellites as a single entity, making that part of controlling them remarkably straightforward.

But you should invest in the Orbi, or any tri-band mesh for that matter, only when you can’t run network cables. Wired networking has many hardware options that are both better and much more affordable. The Orbi Pro Wi-Fi 6 is part of Netgear’s Insights cloud-based ecosystem. Insight mobile app, subscription required wlan: [9330:I:ANY] wlan_cfg80211_set_wiphy_params: 1974: WARNING: Fragmentation with HT mode NOT ALLOWED!! In other words, the subscription will start even you have no use for it at all. Sure, you won't be charged if you have no Insight-capable hardware in the account, but it makes no sense to start a trial when there's nothing to try. wlan: [7818:I:ANY] wlan_pdev_operation: 744: num_radios=2, wifi_radios[1].sc = ffffffc033060880_radio_type = 2 To handle this multi-network setup, the Orbi Pro uses a faster 5GHz client radio than its domestic brethren, claiming speeds of up to 2,400Mbits/sec. If you’re hoping for an enterprise-grade speed boost, though, you’ll likely be disappointed. In our tests, the SXK80 successfully delivered blanket Wi-Fi coverage to every corner of our home. All told, the Orbi Pro is overkill for homeworkers: it doesn’t turbo-charge your connection, it just gives you more to manage.of_get_named_gpiod_flags: parsed 'sd-ldo-gpios' property of node '/soc/sdhci@7864900[0]' - status (0) We’d be naturally reticent about the concept of buying technology with the intentions to add more components to it later. Updates in technology can inevitably circumvent that strategic thinking resulting in spending heavily on the first part of a path and never seeing the downstream benefits. The design itself also has some improvement — it looks the part and now comes with mounting accessories. Where this option differs from the SXK80 hardware is that the Ethernet switch components had link aggregation and 2.5 GbE Ethernet on that design, but those features are both missing from the SXK30. Therefore, at close range, connections of over 500mbits per second are entirely plausible. But that’s a single connection at close range, and a second connection at that speed would consume all the bandwidth that 5GHz has to offer (1200Mbit).

The short question - should I expect performance of the Pro SXK80 system to be the same as the consumer RBR850? You'll note the two hardware units and their mounting accessories and power adapters out of the box.

While probably too much for the home, the SXK80 could be ideal for a small business

The Netgear SXK80 Orbi Pro has more to offer than the home version in terms of wired connections. Each hardware unit comes with five network ports. One is a 2.5 Gbps Multi-Gig port and four Gigabit ports. On top of that, you can also combine the second and third LAN ports, in each unit, into an aggregated 2 Gbps connection. Most static aggregation (static LAG) can and do provide fail-over capability, 802.3ad LACP isn't the only choice. In fact, the most simple static LAG config e.g. on a Linux host does does support fail-over only. This setup is currently suffering from an extremely slow and annoying DNS issue. Feel free to search the community for more posts, as there are a lot of them. This one describes the issue and provides details around the issue. wlan: [7815:I:ANY] vap-1(ath11): ACS result PCH 6, SCH 2, hw_mode 1 chwidth 40, vht_seg0 4, vht_seg1 0

Release notes for firmware 3.2.3.100 states “ When link aggregation applies on WAN ports, removing the cable from one of the ports disconnects Internet access. Workaround: Keep two cables on aggregated WAN ports.” I believe the earlier firmware had the same “workaround” text. While the aggregation available on the SXR80 allows fast access to NAS for multiple devices, the failover protection that the Nighhawk had with its IEEE... aggregation is not available on Netgear’s premier business mesh system at the present time. Whether that can be improved with firmware is unknown. The two share the same Insight mobile app with the "cloud-managed" approach in management via the Insight mobile app. In a nutshell, you need to link the system to a Netgear account and then manage your network via a remote server. For those with a lesser requirement, the previous Orbi WiFi 6 hardware can still be found, and it provides many of the advantages of WiFi 6 at a slightly lower price. Where single point connection speed is paramount, then the SXK30 probably isn’t the best choice, but then it could easily be argued that wireless networking overall isn’t ideal for this job. wlan: [7879:I:TIF] init_deinit_add_11ax_modes: 1467: hw_mode_id = 4 phy_id = 1 wireless modes = 680680cwlan: [7879:I:dfs] WLAN_DEBUG_DFS_ALWAYS : dfs_agile_soc_obj_init: 1585: dfs_soc_obj->num_dfs_privs: 2
