Boss pedals are renowned for quality and value and the CH-1 has been an industry favourite for over 20 years. What does a chorus pedal do? Nowadays, most choruses are digital, which carries with it the usual tradeoff of increased flexibility at the expense of often more clinical tones. However, this isn't a given; not only are some digital effects rich and warm, but others emulate vintage units for a specific tone, like the Strymon Deco's tape machine modeling. Released in 176, the BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble took the chorus circuitry from the JC amplifiers and placed it at the feet of guitarists everywhere. The CE-1 featured the very same circuit found in the JC series and included both chorus and vibrato functionality. A: The CH-1 has dual outputs so this pedal can be used in stereo. While it sounds great in mono (Output A alone), plugging Output B into a second amp increases the depth of the effect and vastly increases the breadth of your guitar tone. Although we admit that carrying two amps to gigs is pretty impractical, we definitely recommend trying this out for yourself!
