About this deal

Updated to Test Bench 1.2, resulting in changes to the results and scores with the Response Time and Input Lag. Added tests for Console Compatibility and macOS compatibility and made minor changes to other tests, which you can see in our Changelog. The MSI MAG274QRX is a fantastic choice if you want a 1440p monitor that’s suitably fast for competitive play. Its Fast IPS panel offers great vibrancy, although it needs a bit of tweaking if your work requires more than what its sRGB mode can offer. We like MSI’s recent designs and build quality, and it’s a huge bonus that some models like this one include USB-C. The Tools tab allows for configuring options such as mouse pointer speed, and power and sleep settings. You can also project the screen externally or use the monitor as a remote display for your smartphone or tablet. Information about the minimum amount of time, in which the pixels change from one color to another. Very often the manufacturer provides the response time for transition from grey-to-grey (G2G).

Information of the number of pixels in a unit of length. With the decrease of the display size and the increase of its resolution, the pixel density increases. DCI P3 is a color space, introduced in 2007 by the SMPTE. It is used in digital cinema and has a much wider gamut than the sRGB. The pixel pitch shows the distance from the centers of two neighboring pixels. In displays, which have a native resolution (the TFT ones, for example), the pixel pitch depends on the resolution and the size of the screen. The monitor comes with picture-in-picture (PIP) and picture-by-picture (PBP) modes for simultaneously viewing video from multiple sources. KVM 2.0 is available as well. MSI recently launched two new MAG QHD monitors in India targeted at the midrange gaming crowd — the Optix MAG274QRF and the Optix MAG274QRX — both of which feature 27-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) G-Sync compatible panels. While theOptix MAG274QRF offers a 165 Hz refresh rate and 300 nits brightness, theOptix MAG274QRX can hit a 240 Hz refresh rate and 350 nits typical brightness that can go up to 400 nits peak for HDR content.

Display and Performance

Information about the maximum vertical viewing angle, within which the image on the screen is of acceptable quality. Information about the number of pixels on the horizontal and vertical side of the screen. A higher resolution allows the display of a more detailed and of higher quality image.

Approximate width of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the width is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. This monitor has modest proportions compared to the first few monitors that had V-shaped bases from MSI. The display cabinet is slimmer while the square base takes up less space than the more aggressive-looking designs. It’s also lightweight so you can bring it with you easily if you need it for a competition or maybe a LAN party with the boys. Ergonomics Information about the ergonomic functions - height adjustment, swivel angles, tilt angles, etc. VESA mountSize class of the display as declared by the manufacturer. Often this is the rounded value of the actual size of the diagonal in inches. The percentage of the approximate area, taken by the active part of the screen, to the total front area. The MSI Optix MAG274QRX is a QHD 240 Hz eSports monitor with excellent performance that will please both gamers and content creators alike. The Optix MAG274QRX offers little room for complaint and comes at a price that significantly undercuts some big names in this segment.” The major competitor to this monitor is the Gigabyte M27Q X, which also offers a similar feature set at possibly lower prices. Still, the MSI Optix MAG274QRX's offers a lot for the money compared to more premium QHD options such as the Acer Predator XB273U GX, Alienware AW2721D, Samsung Odyssey G7, and the Asus ROG Swift PG279QM.

The most widely used panels are those with 6, 8, and 10 bits for each of the RGB components of the pixel. They provide 18-, 24-, and 30-bit color, respectively. The primary specifications are a brightness of 350 cd / m2 (peak 400 cd / m2), a contrast ratio of 1,000: 1, a color gamut of Adobe RGB 97 percent, DCI-P3 92 percent, and sRGB 126 percent, and a display color gamut of 1.07 billion colors. DisplayPort 1.4ax1, HDMI2.0x2, USB Type-Cx1 (DP Alternate / PD 15W compatible), USB2.0 Type-Ax2, USB2.0 Type-Bx1, and headphones x1. All the expected ports for a monitor in this price segment are present, but the HDMI port is still based on the 2.0 standard which limits the maximum refresh rate to 144 Hz. The MSI MAG274QRX is compatible with both FreeSync and G-Sync so you don’t have to worry about tearing and stuttering. Both GPU brands have capable 1440p cards, so it would be wise to get a monitor that’s compatible with both. Input lag sits at 3ms at 240Hz, so there is no need to worry about delays while gaming. Thoughts on the MSI MAG274QRX

NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible – Prevent screen tearing or stuttering, producing ultra-smooth lag-free gameplay. MSI has launched the Optix MAG274QRX 27-inch WQHD gaming liquid crystal display, which features a 240Hz refresh rate.
