About this deal

If a player does not have a Point card in their hand, they will discard their entire hand. They will draw five new cards. If they now have a Point card in their hand, they will choose one to play. If they still don’t have a Point card, they will discard their hand again. This continues until they draw at least one Point card. If players don’t have any usable point cards, they must discard any remaining cards and draw five new ones. Points cards should be played face down and all revealed simultaneously. The player who played the highest-scoring card will win the round and collect equal points. Meteor cards can count as any of the three disaster colors. Meteors only count as a single disaster, but it will be the disaster that has the most negative impact to the cardholder. For example, if you have 1 green Disaster card and 2 red Disaster cards and then get a Meteor, it will count as a red. If you have 1 green and 1 red, it will count as a blue. If you have NO disasters, it will count as any of the three colors until you have a disaster for it to line up with. If you somehow get 3 Meteors and no disasters, that’s the same as getting 3 disasters of the same color or 1 of each color (AKA, you’re out!). There are mini Meteors that act the same way but they flop between 2 of the colors instead of all 3. The two colors depend on which mini Meteor it is, as they are noted on the cards themselves. Also, the ONLY Player whose Dinosaur Trait is active during a Meteor (or mini Meteor) is Stego. The Happy Dinosaur aims to get to the end of your board first. This means you need to be the first player to earn 50 points. However, you can also win the game if you are the last dinosaur standing. So, if things aren’t going well points-wise, you can try to outlive your opponents. The Set-Up

They can then move their dinosaur meeple across the grid on their game board. The player with the lowest score will need to add a disaster card to the disaster area on their board. Figuring out your point score is relatively easy.If multiple players tie for the highest score in a round, each of those players collects points equal to their score in the round and moves their Dinosaur meeple forward on their Escape Route. The card will give you a number; however, you may be able to increase this! Every dinosaur will have its special traits that can increase your score. Certain point cards also work better with particular dinosaurs.

In Happy Little Dinosaurs, the first person to reach 50 points, or be the last Dinosaur standing, wins the game! During each round, you’ll flip a Disaster card featuring a Natural, Predatory, or Emotional disaster. Each player will play a Point card in hopes of collecting points and avoiding the disaster. If an Instant card says “Play this card during scoring”, you can only play the card when the players calculate their scores. This will happen after all Point card effects have been applied. You will play this Instant card during scoring. The player who plays it can choose another player and subtract two points from their score. You can see how your dinosaur traits help you by looking on your game board. Yet, some traits may have negative effects too, which can also reduce your score! So, make sure you remember to factor these into things when you play a card. Each time you add a Disaster card to your Disaster Area, you may discard a card from your hand. This is a useful way to get rid of cards you might not want!
