My other Treelord Ancient will take Regrowth with the idea that they will play a healer to your trees. The purple sun can be powerful with this list for its rend and model removal; just make sure to keep your guys out of its range, as losing one of them will hurt much more than your opponent. For a season of war, I will choose Everdusk to increase the damage output of my trees, and for a Battalion, I will select Battle Regiment to make this a three-drop army, hopefully allowing you to decide who goes first or second. Winterleaf 2,000 Point Army List

Cool models that just never made it. Nominally a fast, melee alpha strike unit they just don’t hit hard enough and don’t do anything else outside of that. They get strikes-first when they charge which is nice, but strike and fade being single-use per turn actually gets you less leverage out this than other armies would. Being out-damaged by both Revenant Seekers and Kurnoth Hunters really is the nail in the coffin of these, as the points saved aren’t aggressive enough to be worth chasing. Spite-Revenants Another grouping of two different abilities under one header, but both are providing some of the extreme mobility available to Sylvaneth. After territories are decided but before faction terrain features are set up you can select 3 terrain features on the battlefield wholly outside the enemy territory to be considered overgrown For the Lady of Vines, I will take The Dwellers Bellow to give you a shot as some mortal wounds against larger units and at range. For the season of war, let’s choose the Everdusk season to get that bonus of not allowing your opponent to move. This army is all about model count and bringing in even more models to force your opponent to wade through. So, if you don’t like painting, this isn’t the one for you.Unique Spell all Sylvaneth Wizards know Verdant Blessing: Casts on a 6 with range 18” if successful set up 1 Awakened Wyldwood terrain feature wholly within range and more than 3” from all other models, terrain features, and objectives. You can read about the Rite of Life and Alarielle’s exploits in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Core Book Every Sylvaneth wizard knows this in addition to any other spells, you don’t have to spend enhancements to get it (or add to it). For CV6 you get to put an Awakened Wyldwood wholly within 18”. The wholly makes this a little tough to use, especially given the restrictions around placing Wyldwoods around terrain and objectives, as your wizards are quite likely to already be clustered around terrain. Either way, it’s free and you always have it if you need it. Lore of the Deepwood

Gorgeous models –Many of your models are newer, created for End Times and Age of Sigmar, as such they are some of the better looking models in the line with lots of options for paint schemes. Is it a bad thing that we’re praising the models in Faction Strengths? Well… Crown of Fell Bowers – At the start of the combat phase you get to tag an enemy unit within 6” and your units get +1 to wound against it for that phase. Decent enough, but there’s a reasonable amount of +1 to wound already available to the army so the actual utility here is more limited. C If you have the opportunity to take this it can be valuable, as Sylvaneth has a really solid lore. Combines well with Spiritsong Stave to get an extra cast in as well. As a bonus, the ability you’re getting alongside is good – two uses of the teleport is fine enough and two uses of your escape mechanism will do wonders for dictating the flow of combat and keeping your army intact. Even if your opponent gets one activation in between your uses of strike and fade, it can make situations where you are throwing your blob of Spite-Revs into a multi-unit combat much less scary. A little beefier in cost at 40 pts but still has some really good effects. Dreadwood probably will get a lot of mileage from it due to wanting as many bravery effects it can get.

Conclusion

Throne of Vines – Casting value 5. Add 2 to casting rolls for the caster until they are moved. Excellent spell, almost mandatory to take on a Branchwraith, since you want them for their Unique spell. Cast this on the Branchwraith, then sit comfortably all game spitting out new Dryads. Awesome. A- Along with every other army (being a core rule now) mount traits cannot be taken more than once each, so no more 5 Metal Cruncher Stonehorn lists (not a bad thing). Beasts of Chaos Actually really good, no limitations on use which is very surprising. Give it to your best caster, just a shame that Alarielle can’t have artefacts. To avoid redundancy, a specific note for Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh and Tzeentch armies that is repeated across their FAQs is that you cannot take coalition units just because they have the appropriate god keyword. They must specifically have the Mark of Chaos for this to work. Beastclaw Raiders Mystic Regrowth – At the end of your hero phase, if this general successfully cast any spells in that phase that were not unbound, you can heal D3 wounds allocated to this general.
