About this deal

Best magnetic Qi charger for iPhone 12 and 13: Anker 313 Magnetic Wireless Charger Pad With USB-C Charger If you have a Samsung phone that supports 15W wireless charging, like the Galaxy S10, S20, S21, Note 10, Note 20 or various Folds and Flips, you should get a 15W Samsung Fast Charge charging stand. Other 15W Qi chargers won’t charge Samsung phones at 15W, and the Samsung charger won’t charge other phones at 15W. Sometimes life is like that. I let both iPhone and iPad battery level drop to around 30%, which would be typical for me with heavy use on a day when I’m not working from home. The Watch and earphones I could use normally. If you can tolerate a proprietary power adapter, the Logitech Powered Pad is a great wireless charging pad for a desk, nightstand or dresser. If you prefer a USB connector, want a charging stand rather than a pad or have a recent iPhone, there are more compelling options below. The MagSafe Duo Charger is clever, compact and incredibly expensive for what it does. It can charge a MagSafe phone (at up to 14W) and an Apple Watch at the same time, then fold into a 75-millimeter-by-80-millimeter-by-15-millimeter square. It connects via a USB-C to Lightning cable, which is included, but requires a 20W or greater USB-C charger, which isn’t. Well-heeled frequent flyers could consider it, especially if you can write it off, but business travel isn’t exactly booming again. Maybe if it were half the price!

As it is “compatible with” rather than certified MagSafe, it wirelessly charges the iPhone at 7.5W rather than 15W. I typically sleep for around seven hours, and all four devices were fully charged by the time I got up. Zens 4-in-1 Magnetic Wireless Charger: Conclusions Don’t rule out mere MagSafe-compatible chargers as they are often high quality and nearly always noticeably cheaper. “MagSafe compatible” is used widely to mean any accessory that includes a bunch of magnets. It’s 15.4cm (6in) high, 15.9cm (6.3in) deep and 8.5cm (3.4in) wide. In comparison, the Belkin 3-in-1 is 13.5cm wide. For an even smaller footprint, consider the OtterBox 3-in-1 Charging Station, reviewed below.

Apple certifies MagSafe accessories with its Made for iPhone (MFi) badge. This ensures that the output charging is 15W, compared to non-certified but MagSafe-compatible Qi chargers that are usually just 7.5W. Certified MagSafe chargers also have a single-wire NFC antenna that allows the iPhone to identify the device, a built-in magnetometer, and a compass to prevent interference while you are using your iPhone while it’s charging. This 3-in-1 charger for iPhone, Watch and AirPods has a small footprint, a little smaller than even the Twelve South HiRise 3 Deluxe reviewed above. It also matches that charging station in terms of charging speed. It’s fully certified for iPhone (so fast 15W) and Watch (fast 5W). Non-certified rivals will charge an iPhone at 7.5W and Watch at 3W. The lower charging pad is rated at 5W and can be used to charge your AirPods or a second phone, although not magnetically and much slower than the main MagSafe pad. If you have any phone in the iPhone 12 or 13 families — including the Mini, Pro or Pro Max — you should consider a MagSafe charger. Rings of magnets on the charger and the phone ensure perfect alignment, and iPhones can charge at up to 15W on a MagSafe charger, compared to 7.5W on a Qi charger. And unlike with a regular wireless charger, you don’t have to leave your phone sitting around while it’s charging; you can use it normally. It even leaves the Lightning port free for wired headphones. (Whether that’s a good thing depends on your relationship with screen time and is outside the scope of this article). The Apple Watch extension can be disconnected from the main station and charged via a USB-C port to become a standalone wireless charger when travelling. The Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Stand does charge other Android phones at up to 10W, and iPhones at 7.5W, like most of the other chargers we tested, so it’s still useful in mixed-phone-ecosystem situations, a phrase I can’t believe I typed at 8 p.m. on a Saturday one week before Christmas.

If you already have an 18W USB-A charger, the Anker PowerWave Base Stand can save you some money. It comes with a 4-foot Micro USB cable but no wall adapter. Like most stands we tested, it can’t charge an iPhone 12 Mini, and the blue charging indicator ring may not be to everyone’s tastes, but it charges other iPhones and Androids at up to 10W, and its design is better than many other budget stands. Fully certified by Apple, it can wirelessly charge an iPhone at 15W and can also fast-charge an Apple Watch at the same time. You need to attach at least a 20W USB-C charger. Use your iPhone for satnav directions or to have easy access to your playlists in the car with this MagSafe-certified wireless charger and car vent mount, which works in both landscape and portrait modes.
