About this deal

The MCs had great chemistry and I enjoyed their interactions. This is definitely instalove/instalust. There is also technically cheating in this book since Valentina is still married when her and Damiano get together but I don't consider it cheating since her marriage was never a marriage. Her husband is a psychopath who really needed to get major help. Book Genre: Abuse, Adult, Contemporary, Contemporary Romance, Crime, Dark, Fiction, M F Romance, Mystery, Romance, Sociology keywords: forced proximity, camorra, mafia war, he keeps her safe, protective hero, age gap, forbidden love

Cleo’s not allowed out of the house, so you’ll have to come over if you want to see her,” Gemma says as she adjusts a strand of her hair.PDF / EPUB File Name: When_She_Unravels_-_Gabrielle_Sands.pdf, When_She_Unravels_-_Gabrielle_Sands.epub I have something special for you,” he says in a low voice, bringing his hand to my face. His fingers trace my cheek. “Take a look.”

The Messeros are famous for their brutal initiation ceremonies. They require aspiring members to kill for their capo. It’s how they ensure their members won’t hesitate to do what needs to be done when someone doesn’t pay their protection fees.

I didn’t tell you this for you to pity me or to try to heal old wounds. I’m telling you so that you know exactly the kind of man I am.” It was so much better than I expected. The story of Valentina & Damiano is beautiful, heartbreaking and exciting. The writing style is awesome! He’s the most powerful man in Ibiza, and he’ll do anything to make me his. I’ve been raised to be the perfect mafia wife , but when my marriage turns into a horrific nightmare, I have no choice but to leave everything behind and start a new life. It’s so ridiculous, and I can’t help but laugh. My youngest sister has always been the most rebellious out of the three of us. It used to worry me. Now, I hope she won’t let Mamma dim that spark. “I give it a week, at most, before the prison sentence is over. Mamma has always had a soft spot for Cleo.”

we got his POV too early. We meet him through the h’s POV around 15%… and their encounter builds a little tension, but it is IMMEDIATELY softened by his POV. There was no point to it and took away all the mystery and intensity. I wish she’d used his POV with more intent. (I do appreciate that we started with the h, tho) The writing is pretty good, it's easy to get into, and I'd say I'm more interested in the characters here than the plot, which I think could have been better in many ways. It was a bit anticlimactic for me and didn't develop much further, particularly the conflict. A barbed wire squeezes around my heart at the thought of what my husband would do in retaliation. If it was only my life at risk, it would be one thing, but he’s made it clear that others would pay for any hint of disobedience I display. I’m sandwiched between Gemma on my right and Mamma on my left. Mamma is giving Belinda her best stink-eye. If that wasn’t enough to communicate her disapproval, the clench in her jaw ought to do it. I know exactly what she’s thinking—it’s above Garzolo women to be this emotional. My sister’s face pales. “ Me? How am I supposed to calm her down?” She shoots me a pleading look. “Send Vale instead.” Lazaro lifts his gaze to me and watches as I drink. When I finish, he smiles softly and hands me the iPad. Cold dread curls inside my gut. I know that look. It can only mean one thing.

The side characters, particularly Ras, Martina, and that other guy, are far more interesting than the main characters.

When she ran after what she did to save herself and a girl who would of been the next victim - I somehow knew that wherever she ended up it would be connected to why the girl was kidnapped in the first place and I was right. And Martina , my girl was BOLD ASF and I couldn't love it more . She was such a badass, her character development ...OMG I felt that shit in my bones . She deserves the world and that was her husband Georgio . They were so perfect together. ( now move , my turn ). The way Martina dealt with her grief and how Giorgio helped her was just so beautifully written . It was AMAZING . I loved them as a couple and I loved them even more as individuals . We chat about TV for the rest of the ride, and I try to mask the suffocating dread I feel the closer we get to Lazaro’s house. I refuse to call it my home. I’ve never felt at home there. For me, it’s a prison with no way out. Mamma twirls her spaghetti-al-limone on her fork and raises it off her plate. “I know you’re still adjusting.”
