About this deal

Jane Johnson’s new novel, “The White Hare”, is a uniquely magical tale of town folklore, fraught mother-daughter relationships, and starting over. In an interview, Savino has stated that the Louds being a family of rabbits was just one of many abandoned concepts he decided on during the show's pre-production. Long, long ago, when all the animals could talk, there lived in the province of Inaba in Japan, a little white hare. His home was on the island of Oki, and just across the sea was the mainland of Inaba. Many cultures, including the Chinese, Japanese, and Mexican, see a hare in the pattern of dark patches in the moon (see Moon rabbit). The constellation Lepus is also taken to represent a hare.

The Valley has a long and bloody history, laced with folklore, and it sits a house above the beach that has lain neglected since the war. It comes with a reputation and a strange atmosphere, which is why mother and daughter, Magdalena and Mila manage to acquire it so cheaply in the summer of 1954. Magda has grand plans to restore the house to it's former glory as a venue for glittering parties. Her daughter, Mila, just wants to escape the scandal in her past and make a happy home for her daughter Janey. Varying in sophistication and elaboration, this icononography characterises all the “three hares” of church architecture in Britain, from a late-15th-century carved wooden boss in the chapel at Cotehele in Cornwall to a stained glass roundel at Holy Trinity church, Long Melford in Suffolk, and a painted stone boss in the Lady Chapel of St David’s Cathedral in Pembrokeshire. The production code of this episode "LDH 105" was produced during the Season 2 along with " Roadie to Nowhere." Please keep quite still, or I shall not be able to count. In European tradition, the hare symbolises the two qualities of swiftness [31] and timidity. [32] The latter once gave the European hare the Linnaean name Lepus timidus [33] that is now limited to the mountain hare. Several ancient fables depict the Hare in flight; in one concerning The Hares and the Frogs they even decide to commit mass suicide until they come across a creature so timid that it is even frightened of them. Conversely, in The Tortoise and the Hare, perhaps the best-known among Aesop's Fables, the hare loses a race through being too confident in its swiftness. In Irish folklore, the hare is often associated with Sidh (Fairy) or other pagan elements. In these stories, characters who harm hares often suffer dreadful consequences. Oystercatchers fly past, skimming the surface of the ocean, their plaintive cries piercing the cool air. In the woods, rooks rise cawing in a sudden clatter of wings that echoes in the valley’s dark cleft.

Hide nor Hare - The episode's original title is a pun on the phrase, "hide nor hair", which means there is no trace of something lost or missing. In the Brazilian Portuguese dub credits, Bethany's voice actor, Tais Feijo, was mistakenly written as "Tais Feij". Edwards, P. J., M. R. Fletcher, and P. Berny. Which is how Mila, her daughter and Mila’s mother, Magda, end up purchasing a rundown home in a small valley in Cornwall, which Magda plans to restore and turn into a functioning bed and breakfast. But immediately upon their arrival, the women start to realize that there is a secret looming over the White Valley; the townspeople talk about strange happenings and curses, and young Jane seems fascinated with her own stuffed rabbit, claiming it’s telling her tales from someone assigned to protect the property. Mila just wants to escape her past and start a new life, but something in White Valley won’t let her, and she is forced to with her demons before she can be granted a new beginning.
