What do you want?” He nodded to me with his chin. “If you haven’t noticed, I’m in. I beat up two guys for you. I think that says enough. I’m all in, Kenz.” Ali Hazelwood’s storytelling ability is one of the best in the romance genre, and for this reason, her stories are addictive to read. While I don’t always agree with the content in her books (I’ve written previously about toxic traits to steer clear of in the romance genres), I can’t deny that Hazelwood has a gift with words. I felt Hate to Love You PENETRATE ME! The passion...the promise...I FELT EVERY WORD I READ! The push and the pull was my DRUG that I both hated and loved. Hate to Love You twists and turns around the heart in a romance roller coaster of feels, and I FELT IT ALL! Now I have to say... I really enjoyed reading "Hate to love you", but I am gonna be honest here and also say that, even though Kennedy and Shay were great, they were no Sam and Mason. I found the amount of conflicts to be OTT. Just one of them would have been more realistic and focused. The last one in particular was vaguely foreshadowed in between the main issues. But nothing happened until the last 15-18% and we are just bombarded with no time for a realistically drawn out climax and resolution. And speaking of last minute, I didn't think that Shay and Kennedy's serious getting to know one another chat should have happened 7% before the end of the story. Kennedy was extremely insecure about their relationship, and needing reassurance about him because she didn't even feel as if she knew him. When you have to ask your boyfriend, "Who are you?" that late in the game because your interactions have centered around lust, then there's a real problem.

My very favourite part about the series is that the female lead has not been shown as a troubled damsel of any sorts, neither has she been forcibly empowered. She is a hard-worker and good at her job. And she lives her life as she wants without much concern for judgement of others. Ah this collection of three novellas that have interconnected characters plus a bonus chapter! Going blindly into the book, I later realised what STEM stands for. STEM is an acronym for the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. Oh and the book comes with a pretty cover!

Loathe To Love You

The women in Hazelwood’s stories are independent and beyond brilliant. I’m not always a fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, but Hazelwood is starting to convince me that maybe this trope isn’t as bad as I once thought. The problems between the characters in these short stories were believable, and once they had been resolved, there was no reason I could think of as to why the main characters should remain enemies. And the make-up scenes? Yeah. Very spicy. They alone make this book worth the read. The first was beautiful, but the second girl’s eyes were a little too wide for her face to put her in the same category."

However, upon arriving at the property, Mara discovered that the house was jointly owned by Helena’s nephew, Liam. This revelation was not welcome news for Mara, considering Liam’s profession as a high-powered lawyer for an oil company that is notoriously known for its negative impact on the environment. What I did enjoy was the steam factor. Hazelwood is great at upping the heat level and the build-up. Plus she excels at the uniqueness of the stories. While characterization might be a bit similar, the actual stories are quite different and I loved that. Below Zero: Five years ago, Hannah and Ian had an immediate connection, enamored with each both physically and professionally. They spend an afternoon debugging code, with the attraction between them brewing, which leads to a hot and lusty encounter! Hannah won’t agree to anything but a physical relationship, so they go their separate ways. I had to shake my head at Hannah.

This kdrama's ensemble of characters looks like this - an independent and confident female lead, an open and understanding male lead, a very fine second male lead who is the best bro a man could have, and a very caring and supportive second female lead who is just a tad bit self-doubting. All the 3 novellas feature women in STEM – three closest friends who are engineer’s by profession and their loathing for love. Ali Hazelwood the author of the best selling The Love Hypothesis comes out with a collection of three novellas in her latest book Loathe to Love.

Being placed in Shay’s discussion group in class the it guy around campus, her rules slowly obliterate one by one. I want the male character to be VERY taken by the heroine and be VERY protective of her -> also happening here as once Shay was in he was all Uber protective of his girl. Swoooooon I love when it happens. The series premiered on Netflix on February 10, 2023, and was available for streaming worldwide. [21] Reception [ edit ] Beautiful and badass Kennedy Clarke was burned in the past but is ready for a fresh start in college, hoping to learn from her high school mistakes and avoid all the hot boys and all the drama. Sarcastic, smart, and sassy, Kennedy is my spirit animal. She marches to the beat of her own drum and is a leader rather than a follower. I ADORED and ADMIRED this heroine so much! Ian: the barely ginger 😂. Yes he was very cute and kind, but again, the story felt a little rushed.Erik: ahhhhhhhhh why is everyone so adorable??? ERIK MY SWEET VIKING FEED SADIE ALL THE CROISSANTSSSS I love the premise of this one and although I’m not fond of an overly guarded Heroine, Tijan writes the perfect balance of tension and steam to keep me entertained and happy.
