About this deal

The final Goat Boat is an impressive Viking ship that would feel very much at home in LEGO’s Castle subline, but for a few MCU-specific details. There are trans-light blue round tiles on the bottom of the ship, implying it has some sort of hover jets. And an “Asgard Tours” logo is present in the front, suggesting this boat was primarily used to entertain tourists before Thor and his friends get it involved in their adventure. The ship is nice and sturdy, and swooshing it around is surprisingly satisfying. Looking at how the Goat Boat looks in the trailers, I think LEGO have done a pretty good job getting the look of The Goat Boat, down to the shape which the more I think about is quite a feat at this price point without any specialised pieces. Here’s a look at the two goats, who are based on Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr, goatswho pull the chariot of the godThorin Norse mythology. Iconic Super Heroes – There are 5 minifigures from the movie onboard Thor’s mighty ship: Thor, Mighty Thor, Valkyrie, Korg and Gorr. Lots of authentic accessories further inspire imaginative play Longships were designed for relatively short voyages, so enclosed cabins were unnecessary. Even so, this structure matches the aesthetic associated with Viking architecture and features crossed bargeboards. The dark red stripes on the walls look brilliant too, while the combination of tiles and plates across the roof provide satisfying texture.

Innovation [3]– Nothing new introduced, but I liked what the designer did to re-create the longship’s shapeI really like the latest version as she looks so badass with her armour, and her hairpiece is a much more accurate reflection of Tessa’s on-screen character.

I did find it a little perplexing that the brown-haired goat (not sure which is Toothgrinder and which is Toothgnasher) had no molded ears, but after looking at some other promo images and merch, it looks like its ears in the source material are much shorter than the long, floppy ears of its white-haired companion. So I think the sideways studs on the pieces used to attach the horns are an OK representation of them in this case.

In each of these cases, it still serves to define the position of a nose that doesn’t exist. Unless you put the helmet on one of the Western natives. Or Timmy. Timmy, smiting the naysayers with Mjolnir. You’re welcome for that mental image." is a great year for Viking fans, as together with the Creator 3-in-1 Viking Ship, we’re getting 2 respectable longships in a year. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Marvel set if it didn’t have a red fire extinguisher! The cabin as a whole is quite basic, but I do like the design of the roof which uses long tiles to mimic Norse architecture. Oh, and the studs are of course useful for minifigures to stand on them. Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor (played by Natalie Portman) is the most exciting minifigure in the set as it’s a female Thor, and it’s fantastic to have Jane Foster make a return. She has an all-new winged helm, and is wielding Mjolnir – in the movie, she seems to have Thor’s old Mjolnir (which was destroyed by Hela) but the design is the plain old grey Mjolnir, which is slightly unfortunate.
