About this deal

Dust Jackets are not guaranteed and when still present, they will have various degrees of tear and damage. You can learn so much from this amazing book, about the famous places, geography, cultural ways, animals, food. The few adults who have picked this up in my house and had a quick look through it have all said how good it is. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

I like the way that the European section travels southwards from Iceland, which means that countries such as Croatia and Romania are given equal space alongside the perhaps more familiar France and Spain. Talk about all the fabulous things to do in each country and detailed history with great quality pictures, even ive learnt something new. It’s incredibly detailed but also kid friendly, but every adult we show is intrigued by this map as well!Much more than an ordinary atlas, this book of maps is a visual feast for readers of all ages, with lavishly drawn illustrations from the incomparable Mizielinskis. This book would have been very welcome at my school last term when Iceland was included in the Year 1 topic of Around the World! With each page turned, you'll be learning fascinating facts associated with each region of the world. Sure enough, it's a huge book that has little to no chance of ever fitting on a bookshelf and it is full of facts beautifully presented. This book of maps is a visual feast for readers of all ages, with lavishly drawn illustrations from the incomparable Mizielinskis.

As children, we both loved stumbling across a book too heavy to even lift, let alone open and read; a book full of facts and numbers; a book whose story you discovered through its ideas rather than its prose. Bursting with fascinating facts and puzzles from around the world, it offers hours of entertainment to young adventurers. The book of 52 brilliantly illustrated maps is a visual feast for readers of all ages, with lavishly meticulous drawings from Polish duo Aleksandra and Daniel Mizielinski. This book is a celebration of the world, from its immense mountains to its tiny insects - and everything in between! The country pages are very detailed and all include the flag, capital city, the languages spoken, population, and area as well as a host of other illustrations about the country including the wildlife, food, buildings, famous people and many more. All used books might have various degrees of writing, highliting and wear and tear and possibly be an ex-library with the usual stickers and stamps. Not every country in, fro example Africa or South America, is included, but, those that are, give a flavour of the variety to be found there. That is not a boast; you really get a strong sense of each country and feel like you've really been on a journey if you read it cover to cover.

The amount of interesting information any child or adult can pick up from thumbing through this book is amazing in my opinon. From time to time, we would like to keep you up to date with news about Beyond the Stork and special offers. Aleksandra Mizielinska and Daniel Mizielinski graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 2007.As someone else mentioned it it a bit cluttered, however one of the biggest disappointments for me was Ireland barely being referenced. The tagline on this gorgeous book promises you can 'Travel the globe without leaving your living room' and, for the armchair traveller this surely is the most fun way of doing so. The oversized coffee table book has double page spreads of each map, beginning with a world map then split into continents, with maps from a selection of countries from that continent behind the continent map. My daughter is so happy with it, lots of friends and family have commented on how beautiful it is and the quality is amazing. The 52 illustrated maps in this book invite the reader on a journey of exploration around the world.
