About this deal

A few years later, LEGO would introduce a new 3×4 door contained in many Universal Building sets that allowed small fingers to open an attachable screen. Then again, everything back then was mostly based on studs, something that today is not a standard practice. However, the 6-high equivalent of the door with 4 panes just looks silly in my opinion and it shouldn't be used on houses, as it just looks too high compared to a minifig.

Kids and families can all learn to build in new and imaginative ways with the LEGO® Classic 11004 Windows of Creativity set, featuring a colorful selection of LEGO building bricks, eyes, wheels and hinges, plus a wide range of windows and doors for creating fun models. On the side of the 5-high door, however, I tend to build buildings at 6-high per floor - 5-high door, with a lintel or decoration above it.

Includes a wide selection of windows and doors, plus a colorful mix of LEGO® pieces including eyes, wheels, hinges and bricks for kids to create classic LEGO toys. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Unfortunately, although one could see through the clear plastic, the door had a major design flaw; it was molded shut. This product contains 16 window frames, 8 little bathroom windows, 4 thin door frames, 4 wide door frames and many more.

Back in the 1950s when LEGO was still using the old archaic slotted bricks (the slots were to hold windows and doors in place instead of via studs). Perhaps the nostalgia factor plays a significant role in here, as well as what the eye is used to when it comes to LEGO doors. I cannot mention realism as a deciding factor for me since I don't MOC in a "proffesional" way and extreme accuracy and realism is something that's not my target when it comes to LEGO. Io a casa ho ormai mega contenitori di lego di ogni tipo e dimensione e con i bambini sono ore e ore di divertimento. One of the most positive aspects that you also correctly state is that old doors could work on their own, without having the need of a support piece.

I was going to start a thread comparing the prefab doors to brick-built ones, but I'm not sure of the need anymore. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. some colors such as red, white and blue were common to all 3 countries, while dark blue were only in Denmark, yellow and light orange were only in Sweden, and green was only in Norway. Another minor issue I have with the new door is that the doorknob stud is too close to the edge of the door, so that it's impossible to add any kind of doorknob on the inside of the door without it jamming in the door frame. Best thing is that you now can put flat bricks in front of doors and they will still be able to open. I agree however that the new 4-pane door looks too tall for a minifig, they could have made the window panes start a bit lower on the door. The primary goal of the Bricks and More theme was to provide sets that were centered around basic building. The tendency to go bigger, bigger, bigger seems everywhere in LEGO, whether it's door parts or Star Wars helmets This isn't always a good thing. Yesterday we built a big building with flats and we still have enough doors and windows to build at least another two or three houses. This set offers 3 levels of building complexity, making it an excellent starter set for budding LEGO builders. It came with various pieces to build only windows and doors for an addition to a LEGO collection or for additional parts of buildings. I'm perfectly happy with the option of the 4x6 doors, but I hope the old 4x5 doors (and the glass-paned ones) are not ditched permanently.

I already have an additional 5 "unknown" sets that will be in the next version of the 2800 page download. In my opinion the current door with frame is for me, although with great fondness I remember the classic 4x5 door in my Shell servo, yellow fire station, snack bar and little garage - ah simple times as a child ! While some children on the block got quite good at “fig flicking”, how realistic was a door that’s smaller than the average minifig? And since Denmark, Norway and Sweden had some of their own local production (in Billund, Oslo and Lerum respectively), there were some LEGO items produced that TLG Denmark was not even aware of since Norway had their own LEGO production until 1961, and Sweden was a hodge-podge of gettting LEGO parts from Norway and Denmark.not really a good present unless you give them all as a set, as you cannot make anything with any one of them, however if your kids like making houses and you don't have enough roof tiles, or they like making cars and you don't have enough wheels etc. When compared to the vast majority of set in the Bricks and More theme, this set is still an excellent investment for collectors. i like the new bigger door as you can make a lot of combinations with the frames and the panels lot of colors and possibilities.
