I decided that I wanted all areas of the pad to register hits if possible, or at least light ones on the edges.

Decide what you want performance-wise, test to find out how far from that you are, and let's dive in. There's two additional inputs on the back and I was thinking that a separate cymbal pad for hi hat to the left and an extra pedal would make it feel a lot more "complete" and useable as an actual instrument. I like the look of the Logitech version, and of course the Ion's would be nice but they are a bit too expensive. But physical imperfections aside, the core aspects of the Guitar Hero kit's design and the design of its competitors ultimately come down to a matter of preference, which is almost always exclusively aligned one way or another. The Guitar Hero 2 Xplorer, the Guitar Hero 3 Les Paul and the Guitar Hero World Tour guitar work with Rock Band: AC/DC Live (and all versions of Guitar Hero). The bumper-type units I fabbed could be easily made via injection molding with a bit of a slit clip at either end to avoid fasteners and drilling.

I don't think you're going to find anything expandable and solidly built that meets your specifications though, at least not in the realm of toy instruments. I considered the performance of my yellow cymbal to be ideal: easily registered both hard and soft hits in the center and readily picked up hits to the far edges as light hits. Although it was made originally as an electric drum kit that was able to be connected to an xbox 360 console. And all the time you play together but also compete with your friends (hit accuracy is tracked), which makes it a real team experience. In Rock Band 2 however paints a bit of a different picture: the cymbals require a lot of time spent trying to figure out how to hit them (angle and pressure) to register.

I have changed the batteries several times, even putting in batteries straight from an opened-that-minute pack, and nothing. No, they are actually pretty different looking, and I hear that they fixed some of the issues with the World Tour set, but I'm hoping someone has hands on experience with the two. Guitar Hero 5/ Band Hero/ Warriors of Rock: The Guitar Hero drum kit's orange cymbal would be merged with the Rock Band drum kit's green pad. If 5-lane O G notes were to be played at the same time in 4-lane Drums, they would be played on blue and green pads instead. The color scheme for Drums' lanes in 5-lanes is R Y B O G while 4-lane version for Rock Band drums is R Y B G.Come join the discussion about computing, builds, collections, displays, models, styles, scales, specifications, reviews, accessories, classifieds, and more!

My 10 year old now wants to play percussion in the band when it starts next school year - I think the GH drums will keep her interest over the summer and make a good transition to a real instrument. Bass drum notes appear the same as open notes on Bass in Guitar Hero World Tour-styled games ( World Tour, Metallica, Smash Hits, and Van Halen) as purple bars. Not that I NEED 6 more pads, but it's nice to have and I can use it with Reaper/Samplomatic 5000 to trigger actual samples outside of AD2 should I so choose. Elsewhere, despite Sony's claim a few months ago that the Rock Band 2 and GHWT instruments are cross-compatible, posters on the Rock Band forum claim their new PS3 drum-kits don't work with Rock Band 2.I submit that using tape instead of the sharp bends would be step one, better assembly of the elements and harnesses being step two. He wears a white sleeveless Audio-Technica shirt, blue shorts, black shoes, a red baseball cap, and black fingerless gloves. The drum pads are much, much quieter and have a great rebound to them (this is coming from what I've heard of it; I have not personally played on this drum set). If you pull gently on the wires while watching the sealant carefully you can tell which wires definitely need repaired.
