About this deal

One area that wasn’t properly addressed (which is why I give this 4 stars instead of 5) is memory usage and performance. I think it is a good thing in that an investment in learning pandas turns out to be a super-power when you need to move to Spark or Dask. It is one of the most widely used libraries for data analysis and has been adopted by many organizations due to its simplicity and versatility.

The book is wonderfully organized and each chapter builds up your knowledge on the core concepts and clearly charts a picture of what is the purpose of each concept.Pandas is built for working with this type of data and also leverages NumPy so it is speedy and memory efficient. Since then, Pandas (with all of its warts and inconsistencies) has taken the world by storm (for better or worse). In reference to Alexey’s comment below about dplyr, I have barely used it, but many of my teammates use it, and they have shown me the basics.

In a world where currently either most Data Scientists either strive for more core modelling skills or core engineering skills (mainly with respect to being more MLOps aware), how would you place skills like writing effective pandas code? We will demonstrate how to do this in Pandas as well as show some of the situations you might want to look out for. The course also has solid, representative examples of using both Pandas built-in plotting functions and the Matplotlib visualization library to produce high quality data visualizations. Seller shipped immediately but the book took over half a month to arrive, due to the carrier used on the first leg, to get the package to USPS.The Grouper class enhances groupby() by adding features like grouping by frequency for datetime or datetime-compatible data types.

The data visualization techniques are based on the same principles that I learned during the scientific visualization course I took during my master’s degree. In this article, we will explore 5 advanced functions in Pandas to help you improve your efficiency when working with Pandas library. Used to commit all the ‘sins’ - lots of intermediate dataframes, lots of single cell calculations/transformations in the notebook. i remember cursing under my breath whenever I had to review coworkers' pull requests containing Pandas code. I skimmed through several chapters because I’m reasonably familiar with pandas, but I’d recommend the book to anyone who uses pandas a lot.Would you say that this book is a reference book or does it require thorough reading to get the best out of it?

Do you think is it because pandas is mainly used for exploratory work and thus, Data Scientists do not see much upside in learning it effectively or is this lack of awareness about what exactly is effective pandas? Im thinking there might be a different approach to a team of analysts that work largely in excel (like many of the engineers I work with) versus analysts who are more familiar with SQL but not Python and pandas. If you have used Pandas, but were confused or just felt like you were copying and pasting from Stack Overflow with no understanding, this course is for you. Some of the methods performed by Pandas can be done by other libraries such as : nupmy or sciket learn. And you will see how I encounter failure and deal with it-highly recommended after you finish the labs! This talk will cut through some of the biggest issues I've seen with Pandas code after working with the library for a while and writing three books on it. This book is full of excellent tips for using Pandas both effectively and efficiently, and the author provides great examples to follow along with. At the end of each chapter, Matt asks you to reinforce what you learned by practicing on a dataset of your choice. Hi Matt Harrison congratulations and thank you for deciding to answer our questions on this community.
