The picture taken of Marty and Doc by the newly started Hill Valley Clock in 1885 is seen by Marty's bed. Emmett Brown's middle name being Lathrop which was used in the Back to the Future Part III novelization and onscreen for the first time in the Back to the Future: The Animated Series episode " Put on Your Thinking Caps, Kids!
