About this deal

There we have him, our little red robot, holding onto his bottom and giving a coy-looking smile to us as readers. While William Shakespeare’s reputation is based primarily on his plays, he became famous first as a poet.

Some nice people had the great idea to make the book 'Wanda and the Alien' by Sue into a world wide TV series. This is a fun story to share with toddlers and those slightly older too, and it bears up well to repeated reading. We have put together some useful information about the science of magnets to accompany this activity. Tell the children that they will be magnet engineers and will be curious about which materials No-bot’s bottom is made from. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

I ron, nickel and cobalt are the only pure metals that are magnetic and can be turned into a permanent magnet.

The book is beautifully illustrated and the story is guaranteed to have you and your child laughing… I can’t recommend any of the Sue Hendra books highly enough, seriously if you’ve never read any of her books then you MUST! Already we're wondering how he ends up with no bottom, and whether the inside of the story will be as funny as the outside. With the partial exception of the Sonnets (1609), quarried since the early 19th century for autobiographical secrets allegedly encoded in them, the nondramatic writings have traditionally been pushed. And we're told, thankfully, that Bernard never lost his bottom again, but in the picture accompanying those words we see Bernard getting off the swing at the park and this time he's left behind his arm!Sue had a great time and got a job with Harry Potter publisher Bloomsbury immediately after she left. Poor old Robot (spoiler alert) leaves his mechanical bottom on a swing at the park and getting it back is problematic. In 2006 she met Paul Linnet and could instantly see that she'd met a fellow nitwit who liked talking nonsense. When she met Paul Linnet she found another twit with a silly sense of humour so they fell in love and started writing and illustrating together. They went on to create many bestselling books together, working in a small room in their house in Brighton.
