In Medieval Dynasty, you take on the role of a young man who has fled from war and wants to take his fate into his own hands. Bandits are going to make life awkward as you navigate between villages so ensure you have items to defend yourself. Survival is a genre that has spun a lot of games, with all or at least most of them attempting to stand out from the rest, be it through its theme, mechanics, difficulty or innovation. Walking up the hills and looking down the different parts of the valley, or walking through the forest, looking for prey, or just going from town to town is a great visual experience.

If you have a lot of free time (50-60 hours seem like a reasonable minimum) and are in no hurry, if you enjoy very complex, immersive games, if you’re willing to overlook numerous bugs and glitches and don’t mind a bland story – Medieval Dynasty is for you. The implementation of the radial menus into the console version of the game is, in my opinion, a successful one. I have been gaming since the ’80s my first console was the Atari 800XL and I have not looked back since. Even though the constant backtracking might be a pain, I personally found the game’s slow pace relaxing rather than annoying and enjoyed my time with it.Take those first steps towards creating your own village filled with unique characters by building your first house.

Immerse yourself in a beautiful open world with an idyllic day/night cycle, seasons and realistic weather. Building your own legacy is challenging because of winters that are tough and unpredictable events that occur.

it is when on top of that it tries to add some RPG elements that it starts to feel a bit iffy, but luckily it is easy to overlook that front. It’s been brought up that the white on white approach the game has doesn’t really work all that well. Besides the actual text being sub-par in engagement and grammar, the actual UI can be a bit jarring at times.

In this time of feudalism, turn your small piece of land into a home and your village into a flourishing city with an expanding sphere of influence. Currently, I would go as far as to say Medieval Dynasty is the best graphics for its genre on the PlayStation 5. There are 25+ different types of buildings with different levels waiting to be built, expanded and decorated by you, from sheds and simple huts to high-end stone houses that resist the ravages of time.

Your character will age as time goes by and the main objective is to procure a wife and have descendants to continue on.
