An excellent modern english translation with language easily accessible to those who find more tradition bible language problematical. This version is published by Tyndale House Publishers, Inc and this particular edition was published in 2004.

As a book I got what I expected with very thin but durable pages common to most Bibles of a manageable size, casebound with pages glued to a spine and then encased in a hard cover. Nearly all of the pages contains a lot of notes for many of the verses that help you understand what you've read better. Both give great guidelines for daily living based on the scriptural teachings, and both are very easy to read and understand.Since that isn’t true today they have added content and edited content to be more relevant to single people.
