I was in the market for a new pair of golf shoes and unfortunately Footjoy has discontinued the Tour X (my go-to shoe) and hasn't released the new Tour Alpha (anxiously awaited! This insole does not compress over time as some other insoles do so the cushioning and performance remains the same as the first day you put them on. The tongue is also softer, thicker and fits much better on the top of your foot, helped by the elasticated strap adding flexibility.

The colour choices are somewhat limited, but the neutral main colours help to match Tour X to multiple outfits. FootJoy, as they always do, sought the opinion of tour players and amateurs alike to ensure they built on the success of the Tour-S in delivering excellence across every performance criteria. Given the claims from FootJoy, the first thing to look at here is the stability of the Tour X, which I have to say was brilliant.Looks-wise FJ seem to have taken things a little back to basics with the Tour-X having a clean, uncluttered modern design.

I was initially disappointed that the leather seemed a tad stiff when I first put it on but I kneaded the toe area a bit, wore them around the house, and they loosened up nicely.
