About this deal

All of these firms use slightly different terms, but as a general rule collections are made on ‘Working Days’ i. With a drop-in-fitting and upgraded capacities available, your range is only limited to how many you can carry. Fitted with easily accessible 'car' type Schrader valves, they can easily be inflated without fiddly extra adaptors.

The indicator on the LED display that lets you know what gear you are in is very small and hard to see in direct sunlight. Alongside the braking force of the hub motor, the rear wheel features a powerful mechanical disc brake to quickly bring the scooter to a halt. The function can be engaged at any time by holding the throttle down for six seconds, and although it’s a slight annoyance that it disengages every time you touch the brake lightly, it makes perfect sense from a safety point of view. I struggled to wrap my hand around the stem, which is not a problem I’ve experienced when carrying other e-scooters around. The best can give up to 80 miles in one full charge, whereas some can do 10 miles, which can still get you pretty far.Run at recommended pressures these tyres are puncture resistant and can be filled with sealant for peace-of-mind. However, if it’s your first time on an e-scooter, it’s definitely worth starting out on the lowest setting until you get used to handling it. The UK government is now conducting trials of these environmentally-friendly icons of modern mobility with the aim of helping to keep people off public transport. It’s important to make clear at this point that electric scooters are classified as Personal Light Electric Vehicles (PLEVs) in the UK and therefore illegal to ride unless you’re on private land with the landowner’s permission. The minimal design and construction help the Decent One Max to achieve a lightweight 15kg, so you can easily collapse the Decent One Max down and carry it when maneuvering through busy train stations.

The Decent One Max features a handy and bright LED dashboard displaying your current speed, battery level, drive mode etc. Charged in under 3 hours, these light, inexpensive batteries allow you to have a spare topped up (externally from the scooter) always ready to go.

Out of the box not much needs doing to the Decent One Max; it’s simple fixing ring and folding lever makes it a 10-second job to set up and collapse it for storage under a desk or on a train, though you will need a small hex key/Allen wrench to tighten the brake and you'll need to screw on the handlebars. The rear mud guard also functions as an "emergency" brake, again like the original Ninebots (and X7), but I never use this for fear of breaking something that looks like its main function is to prevent mud spatter. The Decent One is fitted with huge 10-inch diameter pneumatic tyres that soak up bumps and take the fatigue out of longer rides.

It just means Decent hasn't spent time designed this like Pure Electric has done with the Pure Air Pro. The Decent One Max scooter features a battery that can easily be removed and replaced in seconds while commuting. And if that’s not enough, you can easily swap the battery without any tools (unlike most other models! The Decent One’s 10-inch pneumatic tyres require more maintenance than airless tyres but offer a comfier ride and have better traction in wet conditions.

The 10in pneumatic tyres do a great job soaking up bumps and holes in the road, ensuring you never feel out of control. The 5Ah battery can last up to ranges of 20 miles (32km) and has three ride modes, eco, standard and sport so you can tailor your journey for speed or for distance.
