Renowned for rye – America’s oldest whiskey variety – since the earliest days of our history, we take the production of Michter’s US 1 Kentucky Straight Rye extremely seriously. This rye has notes of black pepper, mint and eucalyptus and is rounded off with fresh orange peel, butterscotch and sweet toffee. After a nearly three year absence from the market, Master Distiller Willie Pratt finally gave the green light for the re-release of Michter’s 10 Year Straight Rye in April 2014. Each bottle of this small batch rye comes from a single fire-charred new American oak barrel, and is presented at 42.Every bottle comes from a single barrel – a unique attribute reflecting their extraordinary commitment to offering Kentucky Straight Rye whiskey of the absolute highest quality.

This rye whiskey is an old “Kentucky style” of rye that utilises a higher percentage of corn in the mash bill.

The whiskey explodes with flavour of rye spice, alongside bursts of black pepper, zesty citrus, sweet butterscotch and warm oak. Distilled to Master Distiller Dan McKee’s exacting specifications, no US 1 whiskey is ever released until Dan and the Michter’s tasting panel deems it ready. Entering the barrel at a lower proof of 103 actually costs Michter’s more money than a higher proof in terms of warehousing however Michter’s believe this produces a Kentucky Rye Whiskey which is richer and smoother. Every bottle comes from a single fire-charred, new American white oak barrel, ensuring the highest quality from every limited batch.
