About this deal

There's also a waste/recycling element (the bottle processing) which could necessitate the use of yet another large truck to move. There’s a license plate with the set’s number, and the letters JM, which I believe are the designer’s initial. The quality is OK and the adhesive seems to be roughly the same, perfect to reposition if necessary.

And yes, this means the minifigure can sit almost normally, with the prosthetic leg being angled upwards. Adding the final touches here and there of fruit crates, lights, and huge carrot sign, we have finally completed the set. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. Both vehicles are great, City-scale and feel especially relevant to the build – not like random vehicles shoehorned in for play features or to bump up the piece counts of set. Approaching with the forklift, a crate can be slotted through the yellow and black striped technic parts which do a fantastic job emulating one of those ubiquitous plastic-strip barriers between spaces.

There is one parking spot, for the owner – Mr Produce, and there is a cool little loading bay for the forklife. The pamphlet doesn’t make the placement of all these stickers explicitly clear so we’ve taken some liberty with the placement of the green sticker on the mostly blank wall to the left of the entrance. This is great and I’m so happy LEGO have decided to include and expand upon the diversity of people, it should be done more! Near the entrance is a bottle recycling machine, which uses minimal floor space and has a good collection crate for bottles on the other side.

Don’t throw this away when you get home as the stickers are located on the inside of the sash, stuck using a small round sticker.

Melding LEGO and Technic in the most ingenious ways, the build is especially challenging but rewarding, especially when you see the functions in action! Fun fact, this is the very first LEGO prosthetic leg that’s a left leg – all previous prosthesis, from peg legs, to mechanical legs on Doctor Rodney Rathbone from Monster Fighters. Heads up for those in the US, UK and EU - today is your final day to score 2x Insider Points on all purchases! Here’s a look at the forklift, which also has a similar-sized footprint, and has a bright orange colour scheme.

The interior of the City set is easily the worst part, with just an overall lousy or under-developed design that doesn't do a great job mimicing the real world. One surprise that greeted me with the set – the sticker sheet which was a lot smaller than I expected!

The set is available now in Australia, the UK and Europe, and will be available in North America from 1 August 2022.

There’s also excellent gender-balance in the set, with females actually outnumbering males, which isn’t particularly common! However, this feature is probably why LEGO has used so many crates throughout the set even when they aren't the best thing for the actual products displayed inside. If I were being picky the trolley itself a tad too big compared to a Minifigure, it’s almost head height. The exterior appears superb and the car park has proven remarkably effective, especially around the loading dock. The sign on the cash machine is placed over multiple stickers, which isn’t something that you would usually see in a LEGO set, though as long you’re not taking them two curved pieces apart, it shouldn’t be a problem.
