There’s a real cost to operating and maintaining this site, not to mention all the time that I pour into it. However, we’re all special in our own way, and I think a case could be made for C200 actually being special too.

In comparison to our earlier C200 Film Review, which was also shot on a bright day, you can see how the grain has increased. The first time I took this film was because I had an urgent need of negative film to take on a holiday.Fujifilm 200 features enhanced colour reproduction, great sharpness and benefits from a smooth, classic fine grain. The murals, known as the Brumidi Corridors, reflect great moments and people in United States history. I used to think C200 was OK until I shot some canola fields and there was just no way I could get the yellows to look any good. In trying to recreate that look this film is able to provide assistance probably no other film on the market can. I love the look of consumer film, and still shoot it quite a lot; working on a roll of Gold 200 at the moment!

When I reviewed Fuji’s Industrial 100 film, I mentioned how its greens and reds were the colours that popped the most.By choosing C200, I wanted to see if consumer films could still do that for me, even as an experienced shooter. It didn’t lose detail in the sand or the sky above it and gave plenty of sharpness and contrast to the people in the scenes too. While it makes sense now, the move will most certainly have a negative long-term effect on the entire film community.
