About this deal

Sadly it’s just a cardboard trifold sleeve, no booklet or pictures, the contest has been quite the visual experience over the years, just to see the fashion and hairstyles over the years would have been fun! This compilation brings all of the popular (not necessarily my favourite Eurovision songs) together in one collection. LP2 presents a run of perfect Pop gems, including Loreen with ‘Euphoria’, ‘Popular’ from Eric Saade, ‘Wild Dances’ from Ruslana, Helena Paparizou, Verka Serduchka and Netta, before heading back to well-loved ‘80s winners from Nicole with ‘A Little Peace’, Johnny Logan’s ‘What’s Another Year’, and one of the greatest singers ever, Céline Dion with the 1988 victor ‘Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi’. The first disc includes the anthems ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Love Shine A Light’ before the massively popular winner ‘Fairytale’ from Alexander Rybak, and dance-floor fillers from Charlotte Perrelli, Gina G, and Dana International. Sandie Shaw’s ‘Puppet On A String’ is up next before timeless ballads from Anne-Marie David with ‘Wonderful Dream’, and Gigliola Cinquetti with ‘Go (Before You Break My Heart)’.

With so many songs entered since the beginning (some highly cherished and others best left in the vaults) this won’t please everyone, but it’s a great chance to hear many of these songs again, and I hope further volumes are released or a DVD/Blu-ray collection - they should have “tooken one step further”! L’Oiseau Et L’Enfant’ from Marie Myriam leads into timeless ballads from Anne-Marie David with ‘Wonderful Dream’, and Gigliola Cinquetti with ‘Go (Before You Break My Heart)’, before closing with the timeless ‘All Kinds Of Everything’ from Dana. One of the greatest singers ever, Céline Dion won the contest back in 1988 and leads LP3, which also includes ‘Hold Me Now’ from Johnny Logan, and 4 more winning songs from Jamala, Marija Šerifović, Secret Garden, and the first of four 1990’s victors representing Ireland, Eimear Quinn with ‘The Voice’. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. This is not a bad collection of Eurovision songs at all, although squarely aimed at the UK market - as well as the usual winners, there's a healthy tranche of UK entries in these three discs, from Michael Ball's pure pop 1992 entry "One Step Out Of Time" to largely forgotten recent classics like James Fox' "Hold On To Our Love" and Jessica Garlick's "Come Back" (the UK's highest placed entry in 20 years, of course, until Sam Ryder scored his sensational second place in 2022). For items that are dispatched using our standard service, we ask that you wait 14 days from the date of dispatch before reporting any items as undelivered. ABBA with ‘Waterloo’ followed by two of the UK’s all-time favourite winners from Bucks Fizz and Brotherhood Of Man. This unique 3CD album features 70 of the most memorable songs from the contest's history - including enduring fan favourites alongside massive selling winners. LP4 starts with ‘What’s Another Year’ – the first of Johnny Logan’s winners, and Nicole’s victor ‘A Little Peace’… as well as winners from Bobbysocks, Riva, Sandra Kim, Carola, and Corinne Hermès.

Over on side 2, Måns Zelmerlöw with ‘Heroes’ opens, followed by ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’ from Conchita, before two huge hits from 2022; UK runner-up ‘SPACE MAN’ from Sam Ryder, and the huge viral smash ‘SNAP’ from Rosa Linn.It has most of the hits that you would expect but there are a few that I suspect the record company couldn’t include like Cliff Richard’s Congratulations etc most probably due to licensing or copyright issues. LP2 opens with a run of contemporary classics starting with Duncan Laurence’s ‘Arcade’, and including Barbara Pravi’s ‘Voilà’ from 2021, Dami Im’s ‘Sound Of Silence’, The Roop, Loïc Nottet, plus two huge hits from 2022; UK runner-up ‘SPACE MAN’ from Sam Ryder, and the huge viral smash ‘SNAP’ from Rosa Linn. Winners Ruslana, Helena Paparizou and Emmelie De Forest are featured along with favourites from the past decade from The Roop and Eleni Foureira. The earlier years of the contest are celebrated on Disc 4 with the classic ‘Congratulations’ by Cliff Richard leading the track-list. Gina G, Verka Serduchka and Dana International bring the dance-floor classics, whilst Lordi and Måneskin brought Rock to the contest – and won!

Feel good songs, smoochy ballads and great memories of what Eurovision was like and is still evolving to be. But that aside it's still a good collection of songs even if it's a little top heavy with UK entries some of them not our highest scoring entries. Disc 2 opens with a run of perfect Pop gems, including Loreen with ‘Euphoria’, ‘Popular’ from Eric Saade, and 2022’s UK runner-up ‘SPACE MAN’ from Sam Ryder.Products labelled '*item fulfilled by Exertis on behalf of hmv' will be supplied to you directly by Exertis via their approved couriers.
