About this deal

She rambles too much and fills her journal with snide little asides that became distracting after a while.

You’d probably have eaten in the company of your son Liam who I never got to meet and one of his gorgeous, big-toothed, shiny-haired Sloaney girlfriends with their impossibly long legs. With a title like The Mistress's Revenge, I really wasn't sure what to expect - the title reminds me of the pile of Mills and Boons that my Mum would have stacked by her bed when I was growing up. Still, you’d imagine a trained therapist would know what they were talking about, wouldn’t you, so I’ll have to assume she has some basis. It’s strange, but when I first started writing as Sally, she appeared as a normally sane woman who just happened to be in the throes of a crisis, but the more I wrote, the less sane she revealed herself to be.Their talking is annoying and self satisfying only, that is the kind of individual that I would not choose to be friends with for any length of time. Sally’s romance with Clive unspools in her recollections of their collaborations, their intimacies, their secrets and lies. This is a cloud CDN service that we use to efficiently deliver files required for our service to operate such as javascript, cascading style sheets, images, and videos.

I hope that, for that reason, women readers particularly will experience a kind of “there but for the Grace of God” recognition. I can't say I liked any of the characters, Sally is hard to like at all, selfish, obsessed, her behaviour and all consuming affair takes over everything. I can’t imagine it was terribly comfortable, although I’m sure you carried it off with your usual insouciance.Sally feels Clive should suffer for not only dumping her,but for causing her pain after their five year affair. Desperate for a job, homeless and penniless housekeeper Cleo Taylor takes up the business offer from billionaire tycoon Andreas Xenides – his fake mistress for a month for one million dollars! Instead of propelling Sally down the path to recovery, the journals accelerate her voyage into depression and obsession.

I felt that I was back in school, forced to muscle my through books that failed to hold my interest. The story is narrated by Sally - it's a rambling narrative and she is speaking directly to Clive, her ex-lover. Even if, in some alternate universe, if I was able to do these things, I don’t know that I would feel satisfied.

I couldn’t help but wonder if this was going to be just another formulaic female stalker novel, à la Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction. I knew that you’d eat in your gleaming double-height glass-roofed kitchen, sitting around the blond wood square table where Daniel and I enjoyed several dinner parties—so strange to think of it now. While we rarely hear of a woman breaking off an affair, men suddenly seem to have a need to clear their conscience and appear to have no problem ending an affair. Please ensure that book(s) are sent back unread, in the original packaging and your dispatch note is included.
