About this deal

It is here that the Voyer family have distilled their wines since 1870, producing smooth, elegant and haunting Cognacs from an exceptional terroir in an exceptional region. The crus' delimitation, according to geological and sampling criteria of the eaux-de-vie, was carried out during the 19th century, registered in 1909 and integrated in the designation decree in 1938. When the word Champagne is used on a Cognac, it will either be preceded by the word, Grande, Petite, or Fine. Many of these old cognac families have been distilling their wines for generations developing the knowledge passed down from their forefathers and perfecting the skills of distillation and ageing. Please note, whilst the majority of parcels sent on this service are received next day, this is not guaranteed.

The labelling designations are: VS (Very Special) with a minimum of two years’ ageing, VSOP (Very Special Old Pale) with four years and XO (Extra Old) with 10 years. To produce their Cognac, Rémy Martin uses an exclusive blend of grapes made up of 97% Ugni Blanc and Colombard, with the remainder being the spicy, robust Folle Blanche grape. Created in 1927, Rémy Martin VSOP is the first ever VSOP Cognac Fine Champagne blend, and the first to be enshrined in the iconic frosted bottle. Please always read the labels, warnings, and directions provided with the product before using or consuming a product. François Voyer is above all a family story and their care for quality starts in the vineyards and its 28 hectares of Ugni Blanc, cultivated on the chalky soils of the region. Serving suggestions: Impress your guests with the Rémy Grand Tonic, the French twist on a British classic.

Having said this, Cognacs from the other growth areas are not of lesser quality, they simply have different qualities about them.
