Except instead of thumbing your way through a tome of stories, you’re using a web app that serves up stories at the touch of a button.I think eventually then you’d be able to max out your characters with all the skill marks if you’d played the game a ton of times. Instead, the game encourages you to tinker and adapt your playstyle as you see fit rather than “gaming the system” which makes for better storytelling as far as I’m concerned. You set out to acquire prestige by completing quests using your might, survival, knowledge, communication, perception and thievery skills. I love the mechanisms and the gameplay but I also love the world of Daimyra and the animal folk that abound it.

Considering how many scenes that are contained in the companion app and how different skill checks will veer the story accordingly, this is a mighty impressive feat in terms of narrative.Waiting for other players to read through their scenes and perform skill tests might bog the game down a little. Each game of Lands of Galzyr picks up where the previous one left off thanks to a clever save and load mechanism. So if you’ve played something like Above and Below and wished the narrative adventures were more in the spotlight (and deeper), then Lands of Galzyr is exactly for you.
