I knew I would like it by the description alone - but was surprised at how it caught me off guard, I was not expecting this. Fast Forward to 2021: I wore Illusione again today after more than one year and I must admit I really like it now.

A: Illusione boasts long-lasting staying power, providing a delightful scent experience throughout the day. At first, I thought this was too green and too musky but the more I wear it the more I fall in love with it.I slowly came to realise that this was a lot more formal than I was expecting from the marketing, makes for a good office fragrance. It's getting to a point that it's become their signature, one just expects a Bottega Veneta fragrance to have an underwhelming performance. Hugo Boss Reversed is somewhat similar, but more aggressive, though on clothes Illusione gets more assertive than on skin. I happen to smell lavender here as well and in so, it reminds me of a sort of Sergio Tacchini Uomo or Moschino Uomo?

Notes say it's black currant, I, however, smell more complexity - some sour red currant and cherries similar to TF Lost Cherry. To summarize, it's a sweet fig alternative that can be worn to most occasions but, considering fig perfumes are among my favourites, this didn't impress me much. I sprayed a little on my hairline and really enjoyed picking up wafts of orange blossom through the day. This opens with a bright citrusy bergamot and black currant, the fig is in the background which gives it a aromatic touch. This luxurious fragrance boasts a composition of feminine floral and woody notes, reminiscing upon the natural beauty of a green, dewy garden. With Illusione for Him, however, I like it quite a lot, despite it being 'mature', but I'm probably not going to get a bottle of it soon.I don't agree that this is only a summertime fragrance as it has some bold, warm notes which make this really versatile. Also, wouldn’t say it’s naturalistic, even though it’s not tarty, as it’s got a bit of designer edge like the upvoted Ange Ou Demon Le Secret.
