I was a little bit annoyed at the fact that the main answer to some of the biggest question was simply "it was meant to be", or that there was some greater power. Each of them is handed a tantalising clue to their true heritage – a clue which takes Maia across the world to a crumbling mansion in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

I'm relieved to be done with this, but I'm also disappointed that I bought this new at the time, so it makes me less inclined to push it off that high building. Still, I’m looking forward to the remaining stories of each sister- and will be sure to savor each one! Star D'Aplièse is at a crossroads in her life after the sudden death of her beloved father – the elusive billionaire, named Pa Salt by his six daughters, all adopted by him from the four corners of the world.Dropping out of art college, CeCe watches as Star, her beloved sister, distances herself to follow her new love, leaving her completely alone. There amongst the backpackers, she meets the mysterious Ace, a man as lonely as she is and whom she subsequently realizes has a secret to hide . Eighty years earlier, in the Belle Époque of Rio, 1927, Izabela Bonifacio’s father has aspirations for his daughter to marry into aristocracy. At one point the author finds it necessary to have Floriano remind Maia that she has just lost her father and that this will have an effect on her emotions. Unfortunately, these sections aren’t much more than a series of lengthy conversations where one sister poses questions to another and the second one says she doesn’t know the answer.

Rushing back to meet her five sisters at their family home, she discovers that her father—an elusive billionaire affectionately known to his daughters as Pa Salt—has left each of them a tantalizing clue to their true heritage. While all of this happening, Laurent gives her an ultimatum to choose between running away with him to Paris or staying back in Rio and living her life.

Ağlasam belki geçer diyeceğim ama ağlayacağım derecede bir kitap olmamasına rağmen nasıl bu kadar etkilendim? I was very attracted to the fact that each one of the mythological sisters was, according to their legends, a unique and strong female.

I love family sagas, emotional dilemmas, tragic love affairs, and romance, especially in an exotic location and set in a historical time period- so naturally, this book was a perfect fit for me. But Izabela longs for adventure, and convinces him to allow her to accompany the family of a renowned architect on a trip to Paris. I know who Maia's mother is and the circumstances, but can't think how the inscribed tile got passed down really? There, at Paul Landowski’s studio and in the heady, vibrant cafés of Montparnasse, she meets ambitious young sculptor Laurent Brouilly, and knows at once that her life will never be the same again.

The rich "Pa Salt" who has six adopted adult daughters, mysteriously added to his single parent family under circumstances unique and never explained to each one, has died.

Instead, Izabela gravitates toward Laurent, who is very very very handsome, but beyond that has no further depth as a character. The action of the first novel of the epic "Seven Sisters" begins at that rare moment when a stay-at-home Maya visits a school friend in London. The story of how the Irish war for independence played out in poor, rural West Cork is a fascinating David vs. Trading Address (Warehouse) Unit E, Vulcan Business Complex, Vulcan Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE5 3EB.
